Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out the tallest wide receiver in the NFL, written in a casual, personal style:
So, I got into this random debate with a buddy the other day about who the tallest wide receiver in the NFL is. I mean, it’s not something I normally think about, but once the question was out there, I had to know. You know how it is.

First, I just did a simple search. Typed in “tallest NFL wide receiver” and hoped for the best. I got some names, a bunch of articles and a few videos. Seemed easy enough, right?
I started clicking through the results. I quickly realized it wasn’t gonna be that simple. Some lists were old, like, really old. Others gave the height, but didn’t cite an official source, making it hard to trust.
Digging Deeper
I decided I needed something more reliable. I’m a pretty visual learner, I like to see things laid out, so, it dawned on me: tables.
I spent a good chunk of time just compiling a list of names that kept popping up. Then I looked at the players with the greatest heights and organized them into a table.
- I cross-referenced heights, confirmed that they were listed as a WR at the time.
- Checked multiple sources – team websites, stats pages, even went down a few Reddit rabbit holes (those can be surprisingly helpful, or just a huge waste of time).
I felt like a real detective! It was actually kind of fun, piecing it all together. I realized that a lot of the information I had found from the start had small errors, but I finally managed to compile the data I was looking for.
It might sound like a silly thing to spend an afternoon on, but hey, I learned something new, and I satisfied my curiosity. Plus, I can now definitively win that argument with my friend. Totally worth it!
