So last night I saw WWE Smackdown was coming to Paycom Center on September 27, and I figured hey, why not check who’s fighting? Always wanted to see a live event, you know? Grabbed my laptop around 8 PM, cracked open a beer, and started digging.
First I just googled “WWE Smackdown September 27 fights” like any normal person would. Big mistake. All I got were old lineups from months ago and clickbait articles about rumors. One site claimed Roman Reigns would fight ten guys at once. Yeah right, pull the other one.

Decided to get smarter and went straight to WWE’s own site. Took forever to find the events calendar – that thing’s buried deeper than The Undertaker after a Tombstone. Finally found the Paycom Center date, but all it showed was “Smackdown Live Event” with zero details. Even the ticket seller site just had placeholder stuff like “Superstar Appearances Subject to Change”.
Got frustrated around 9:30 PM and remembered Reddit’s wrestling communities. Hopped on r/SquaredCircle and searched the venue name. Boom! Found some fans talking about possible matches based on TV taping spoilers. Saw names like:
- Bianca Belair vs. Bayley
- Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn teaming up against Judgment Day
- But then somebody commented “card subject to change lol” and I knew it was shaky info.
At this point I was determined. Went old-school and actually called the arena box office this morning. Got transferred three times before some tired-sounding guy said “We don’t get the final lineup until show day, but expect big names – it’s Smackdown.” Then he hung up. Real helpful.
Finally pieced together the most probable fights from TV buildup this week:
- Women’s title match with Iyo Sky probably defending
- Solo Sikoa continuing his war with someone
- LA Knight doing his mic thing because folks love him
Honestly? Ended up more confused than when I started. WWE keeps these things mysterious on purpose, I guess. Might just buy a cheap ticket last-minute and be surprised. At least the beer’ll be cold.
