Okay, so I was going to a golf tournament the other day and I had to figure out what to wear. I knew I couldn’t just throw on anything, there might be some rules about this sort of thing.
I started by doing some quick searching online, and I saw a lot of talk about a “dress code”. I learned that certain things were a big no-no. I couldn’t wear my usual jeans, which was a bummer, and definitely no shorts or t-shirts. They were pretty clear on that, so I needed to come up with something else.

Figuring Out What I Had
So I started digging through my closet to see what I actually had that might work. I found some khaki pants that I hadn’t worn in ages, and they still fit, which was a relief. I also found a couple of polo shirts that were in decent shape. Not my favorite, but they would do the job.
Putting It All Together
- First, I tried on the khaki pants. They were a little stiff from not being worn, but after moving around in them, they felt okay.
- Then I put on one of the polo shirts – a light blue one. It wasn’t too flashy, which I figured was a good thing.
- I checked myself out in the mirror. Not bad, not bad at all. It was definitely a different look for me, but I felt comfortable and like I wasn’t going to stand out for the wrong reasons.
Finally, I threw on some comfortable shoes – not my usual sneakers, but some loafers I had lying around. I made sure everything was clean and looked presentable, and I headed out the door. I got to the tournament and felt pretty good about my outfit choice. No one gave me any weird looks, so I guess I did alright!
