Okay, so the other day I stumbled upon this cool thing called an “MLB season simulator.” Being a huge baseball fan, I just had to try it out. Basically, it lets you play manager for your favorite team, making all the big decisions like you’re in the dugout.
I started by downloading this “OOTP 24” thing. I saw a news blurb about it being the latest version, so I figured it had to be good. Then there’s something called “FHM 9,” but I went with OOTP 24 because it seems like the thing for baseball. There’s also “OOTP Go!” but I didn’t check it out.

Once I got it running, I picked my team (Go Dodgers!) and dove right in. First thing I did was check out the roster. It’s got all the big names like Ichiro and Jeter. I always loved those guys. I’m planning to add more stars like Juan Pierre, Alfonso Soriano, and Scott Podsednik later.
Then I started messing with the lineups. It’s pretty detailed – you can set batting order, pitching rotations, all that stuff. I spent a good chunk of time just tinkering with different combinations, trying to find the perfect setup.
After that, I simulated a few games just to see how things played out. It’s pretty wild watching the games unfold, knowing you’re the one calling the shots. I even tried out a few different strategies during the games, like pinch-hitting or changing pitchers, just to see what would happen.
I’ve only scratched the surface, but I can already tell this is going to be addictive. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season plays out and if I can lead my team to the World Series!
Things I’ve done so far:
- Downloaded OOTP 24
- Chose my team
- Checked out the roster
- Set the lineup
- Simulated a few games
- Tried out some in-game strategies
It’s been a blast so far, and I’m excited to keep playing. I’ll probably share more updates as I go along. Stay tuned!
