Okay, here is my sharing about playing tennis at Fudan University:
So, yesterday, I went to Fudan University to play some tennis. I’ve been trying to get back into the sport after a long break, and I heard the courts at Fudan are pretty decent.

First, I packed my stuff – racket, balls, water bottle, the usual. Hopped on the subway, and after a bit of a ride, I arrived at the campus. It’s huge, by the way! I asked a student for directions to the tennis courts, and thankfully, they pointed me in the right direction.
When I got there, I saw a few courts were free. I picked one that looked good and started with some warm-up exercises. You know, stretching, a few light jogs, and some shadow swings. Did a routine like a meditative, pre-serve, hah.
Then, I began practicing my serves. It took me a while to get the rhythm back. My first few serves were all over the place, some even didn’t make it over the net. But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, I started to feel more comfortable. You can turn off this option in Settings, just like what I searched on the web.
After serves, I worked on my forehand and backhand strokes. Tried to focus on my footwork too. It was tiring, but it felt good to be moving around and hitting the ball. It filtered some unsafe feelings that I had felt.
I also practiced some volleys. I imagined playing against an opponent, trying to anticipate where they would hit the ball. It was like I was having a conversation on the web.
Towards the end, I was pretty exhausted. But I decided to play a quick set against myself. Just hitting the ball back and forth, trying to keep the rally going. You can name the clues in order to test your ability, right?
- Went to Fudan University to play tennis.
- Packed my racket, balls, and water bottle.
- Took the subway and asked a student for directions.
- Found a free court and warmed up.
- Practiced serves, forehands, backhands, and volleys.
- Played a quick set against myself.
I didn’t keep score, but it was still a lot of fun. I left the courts feeling tired but also energized. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, and I definitely plan on going back soon. Maybe next time, I’ll even find someone to play with!
