Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole Virginia Tech football depth chart thing, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a journey. Started off pretty simple, you know? Just wanted to see who’s playing where for the Hokies this coming season. I figured, “Hey, I’ll just pop online, find a chart, and boom, done.” Oh boy, was I in for a surprise!
First off, I tried to find the most up-to-date chart for the 2024-25 season. I browsed all these different websites, I read through so many different depth charts. And every site had its own version, slightly different from the others. It was a bit of a mess, honestly.

But I wasn’t gonna give up that easily. I started looking at each position, one by one. For the offensive guys, I wrote down all the names that kept popping up. Same deal with the defense. There were some names I recognized, like Keylen Adams for wide receiver, and some new ones that I needed to keep an eye out for. Then I compared all the information, piece by piece.
I saw that Virginia Tech had released their official chart for Week 1. That was a good start! I used that as my main source and then checked other places to see if they matched up. Most of the time they did, but there were a few differences here and there. I also found out the Hokies have had over 146 players drafted into the NFL! That’s a lot of talent.
- Offense: I started by figuring out who the key players were going to be. The wide receivers, the running backs, all those guys.
- Defense: Then I did the same for the defensive side. Noticed some strong names in the lineup.
- Putting it together: I took all these names and tried to make my own version of the depth chart. It was like solving a puzzle, but a fun one!
It took a while, but finally, I felt like I had a good grasp of who’s who on the Virginia Tech football team. It was way more work than I expected, but hey, I learned a lot! Now I’m all set for the season, and I’ve got my own little depth chart to refer to. Go Hokies!
Reflecting on the Process
Looking back, it was a pretty interesting experience. It wasn’t just about finding a list of names. I really had to dive deep and cross-reference a bunch of info. Definitely felt like a bit of a detective there for a while! It shows that even something as simple as a depth chart can be more complicated than you think. But, all in all, it was a fun challenge. Now, every time I watch a Hokies game, I’ll have that extra bit of knowledge about who’s on the field. Makes it all the more exciting! It was a pain to put together, but honestly, it was worth it. I feel way more connected to the team now.
