Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the NFL draft prospects, specifically looking at the top centers. It’s a surprisingly interesting position this year! Here’s how I went about breaking it all down, and what I found.
Started with the Basics
First, I just needed a list. I scoured the internet for mock drafts and prospect rankings from all the usual suspects – you know, the big sports sites. I didn’t just look at one, though. I wanted a wide range of opinions.

Dug into the Stats
Next, I got into the nitty-gritty. I pulled up college stats for these guys. Stuff like games played, starts, and any awards they might have won. I also checked out their combine results – things like the 40-yard dash, bench press, and those agility drills. Numbers don’t tell the whole story, but they sure give you a good starting point.
Watched the Tape (Lots of It)
This is where it got really time-consuming. I spent hours watching game footage. I wasn’t just watching random highlights, though. I focused on how these guys performed in different situations.
- How well did they handle powerful defensive linemen?
- Could they get to the second level and block linebackers?
- Did they show good footwork and technique?
- Were they consistent, or did they have games where they struggled?
Noted the intagibles
Some of the centers I have noticed, not only great in their physical condition, but also good at leadership. I can tell from the game that they are players who are very vocal and willing to take the lead.
Formed My Own Opinions
After all that research, I finally started forming my own opinions. I made my own little ranking list, based on what I saw and what I value in a center. It’s definitely not the same as the “experts,” but that’s the fun of it! Some of these guys is so potential to be a star!
It was a lot of work, but I feel good in my reaserch and hope my sharing will help you guys too.
