Well, well, well, y’all! Let me tell you somethin’ about them Houston Texans and their playoffs. Now, I ain’t no expert, but I been watchin’ football since forever, and I can tell you this – them Texans, they sure know how to get folks riled up. Last time I checked, they been to the playoffs seven times, and that was up until the end of the 2023-24 season. Yep, seven times! Ain’t that somethin’? You’d think they’d been doin’ this for a long time, but it ain’t always been smooth sailin’. Some seasons, they barely made it, and other times, they showed up lookin’ like they owned the whole dang thing.

Now, what I really wanna talk about is the way they’re lookin’ for the 2023 playoffs. You know, this whole thing’s been a little clearer than the creek water after a good rain. You got them Buffalo Bills, them Kansas City Chiefs, them Baltimore Ravens, and of course, the Houston Texans – them teams look like they’re just about locks for the playoffs. Yessir, it’s like the writing’s on the wall. Folks been sayin’ for a while now that these teams are gonna be hard to beat come playoff time.
Now, them Texans – bless their hearts – had themselves a time in the 2023 playoffs. They hadn’t made it back since 2019, but on that Saturday night, well, they went and won themselves a game against the Indianapolis Colts. 23-19, the score was. Them Texans showed up and made sure they got themselves that playoff spot. I reckon they was happy, but they had a long road ahead of ’em. I mean, it ain’t just about gettin’ to the playoffs, it’s about what ya do once you’re there.
And let me tell you, it wasn’t just any ol’ team out there. The Texans got themselves a real young quarterback – C.J. Stroud, a rookie, mind ya. This kid was full of energy, and you could tell he was excited to be playin’ in them big ol’ games. But, well, when it came time for them to face the Baltimore Ravens, who was sittin’ at the top of the AFC, things didn’t quite go as planned. Them Ravens, they put the Texans to the test, and the Texans just couldn’t keep up. The Ravens went and beat ’em good. It was a tough game, but that’s the thing about the playoffs – it don’t matter who ya are, if you ain’t ready for the fight, you’re gonna find yourself goin’ home early.
Now, I ain’t gonna say the Texans don’t have a chance in the future. I mean, they’re still a young team, and with a quarterback like Stroud, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get themselves back in the playoff hunt again. They got the pieces, just need a little bit more time to put it all together. I reckon they’ll be back soon enough, givin’ folks something to talk about.
So, if you’re a fan of them Texans, don’t hang your head low. There’s always next season, and I’ll tell ya what, you can bet your boots they’ll be back. Them folks from Houston, they don’t give up easy. You keep cheerin’, keep believin’, and who knows? Maybe next time they’ll go all the way and make a real run for the championship.

But until then, we’ll all just have to sit back and watch how the rest of these playoffs unfold. It sure is a wild ride, ain’t it?
