Okay, so I’ve been meaning to check out the Roy Barth Tennis Center for a while now. I’ve heard good things, and honestly, my backhand could use some serious work. So, I finally decided to go for it.
First, I looked up their hours online. Gotta make sure I don’t show up when it’s closed, right? That would be super embarrassing. Seemed like they had pretty standard hours, nothing too crazy.

Getting There
Next, I figured out how to get there. I just popped the name into my phone’s map app, and it gave me a few options. Driving seemed easiest, so I went with that. Parking looked a little tight based on the satellite view, but hey, I’m a parallel parking pro (mostly).
Checking In and Hitting the Courts
- I walked in, and the front desk person was super friendly.
- Asked about court availability, No problem.
- I paid for an hour, grabbed my racket, and headed out to the courts.
The courts themselves? Pretty nice! They seemed well-maintained, the nets were in good shape, and there was plenty of space between them. I spent the next hour just practicing my serves and, you guessed it, that darn backhand.
Wrap Up
Overall, I’d say it was a solid experience. The staff are cool, the courts is good, and I managed to hit at least a few decent backhands. I’ll definitely be going back – maybe even sign up for some lessons. My backhand still needs all the help it can get!
