Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience messing around with retro MLB logos:
So, I got this idea the other day. I wanted to do something with those classic, old-school MLB logos. You know, the ones that look totally different from what teams use now. I’ve always loved that vintage aesthetic, so I started digging around to see what I could find.

The Hunt Begins
My first step was just to gather some images. I fired up my browser, started searching, and wow, there are a ton of these things out there! I spent a good chunk of time just saving images of all the old logos I could find. I focused on the ones that really screamed “retro” to me – the ones with simple designs and that kind of faded, aged look.
Playing Around with the Images
Once I had a decent collection, I started experimenting. I opened up my favorite image editing software. I used a really easy and free program. I tried a few different things. I played with the colors, making them even more faded and washed out. I added some textures, like making them look like they were printed on old paper or canvas. I even tried adding some “wear and tear,” like scratches and creases, to make them look even more authentic. I also adjusted the image sizes to make my design options easier.
What I Ended Up With
It was a lot of trial and error, to be honest. Some things worked, some things didn’t. But after messing around for a while, I started to get some results I really liked. I managed to create a few images that really captured that vintage, retro feel I was going for.
- I used multiple layers to create different effects, like overlaying textures.
- I discovered some cool filters that helped enhance the vintage look.
- The main purpose of this was to experiment and that is exactly what I did!
It was a fun little project, and it definitely scratched that creative itch I had. Plus, now I’ve got some cool retro MLB logo images to use for whatever I want! Might make some stickers or something. Who knows!
