Alright, so I decided to dive back into some WWE gaming lately. Not just messing around, but really trying to get good with a certain type of wrestler: the giants. You know, the big dudes, the real monsters of the ring.
Getting Started with the Big Guys
First thing I did was fire up the game. Can’t remember which one exactly, maybe 2K something or other, doesn’t really matter. They all kinda feel the same after a while. I scrolled through the roster, looking past all the usual main eventers and high flyers. My goal was clear: find the biggest guys available.
I picked out a few potentials:
- Andre the Giant, obviously. The classic choice.
- The Big Show. Another must-have.
- Maybe someone like Omos or Yokozuna if they were in there.
I settled on starting with Andre. Figured I’d go old school first.
The Actual Trying Part
So, I jumped into an exhibition match. Just a simple one-on-one. Picked a smaller opponent, maybe someone like Rey Mysterio, thinking it’d be an easy squash.
Wrong.
Man, playing as Andre was tough at first. He felt so slow. Every movement felt like it took forever. Trying to land quick strikes? Forget it. The smaller guy was just dancing around me, hitting me with quick kicks and punches before I could even react. Grappling was a challenge too. My timing was all off because he moved like a tank.
I got frustrated pretty quick. Lost that first match badly. Thought maybe this wasn’t for me.
Changing Up the Strategy
But then I thought, okay, maybe I’m playing him wrong. You don’t try to out-quick a quick guy when you’re Andre. You gotta use the power. You gotta be patient.

So, I went into practice mode. No opponent, just me and the ring. I started working on the power moves. The big slams, the headbutts, the chokes. Focused on timing those heavy hits and grapples. Learned how to use his size to block or just walk through smaller attacks.
Spent a good hour or so just getting the feel for it. It wasn’t about fancy combos. It was about waiting for an opening and then just absolutely crushing the opponent when I got the chance. Big power grapples, heavy strikes, wear them down slowly but surely.
Seeing Some Results
After that practice session, I tried another match. This time against someone mid-size, like Randy Orton. It felt different. I wasn’t trying to chase him around. I let him come to me. I used Andre’s reach. I focused on those big impact moves we practiced.
And guess what? I won. It wasn’t pretty, it was a slow grind, but it worked. Landing those massive slams felt way more satisfying than doing a bunch of quick moves anyway.
It’s a whole different way to play. You gotta be methodical. You absorb some punishment, wait for your moment, and then make it count. Playing as the ring giants really changes how you approach the match. It takes patience, something I had to work on, but it feels powerful when you get it right. Definitely gonna stick with the big guys for a while now, see who else I can master.
