Alright, let’s gab about them pink jerseys the football fellas wear. You know, the ones they put on durin’ October.
First off, why pink? Well, some folks decided it’s for breast cancer awareness. Yeah, that thing that bothers the womenfolk. It’s important, ya know. My niece, bless her heart, she had a scare last year. So, I get it. Gotta keep reminding folks to get checked.
Now, these NFL big shots, they sell all sorts of pink stuff. Jerseys, hats, even them little bitty wristbands. They call it “NFL Pink” or “Everything Pink” and such. You can find it online, they say. *, that’s one place. NFL store, that’s another. They got it all, men’s stuff, women’s stuff. Even the little kids get pink stuff to wear. I saw a picture once, even the referees were wearin’ pink whistles. Imagine that!
- Jerseys: They got all the players’ names, I reckon. Tom Brady, he used to wear a pink one, before he went off to wherever he went.
- Hats: Pink hats, too. Some with the team logos, some just plain pink. Keeps the sun outta your eyes, I guess.
- Other stuff: Like I said, wristbands, socks, even pink footballs. They’ll sell ya anythin’ pink, seems like.
They make a big fuss outta it in October. “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” they call it. See it on TV, all the players wearin’ pink shoes, pink gloves. It’s somethin’. They say it helps raise money, for research and such. That’s good, I guess. Gotta find a cure for that thing.
But lemme tell ya, some of that pink stuff is right expensive. I saw a jersey once, cost more than my monthly grocery bill! Land sakes! Who’s got that kind of money to throw around? Not me, that’s for sure. I reckon some folks buy ‘em though. See ‘em wearin’ ‘em around town. Good for them, I say. Supportin’ a good cause, and lookin’… well, pink.
I heard tell they sell this pink stuff all over the place. Not just online. You can find it in stores, too, I guess. Big stores, little stores, probably even flea markets, though I ain’t seen it myself. They gotta get that pink stuff out there, so everyone can see it and remember to get checked.
Them football players, they seem alright about wearin’ pink. Big tough guys, all dressed up in pink. Good on ‘em, I say. Shows they care, or at least that they’re told to care. Heck, I don’t know what goes on in their heads, long as they’re helpin’ out.
So, that’s the deal with the pink jerseys, as far as I can tell. It’s about breast cancer, and sellin’ stuff, and remindin’ folks to take care of themselves. And wearin’ pink, lots and lots of pink. Makes the world a little brighter, even if it is just for a month. And hey, if it helps even one woman, well, then it’s worth it, I reckon. Even if it does cost a pretty penny for some of that pink gear.
Now, where did I put my tea? All this talkin’ about pink got me thirsty.
