Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with “MLB The Show” again, and this time I really wanted to see what this Paul Skenes guy was all about. Everyone’s been hyping him up, so I figured, why not bring him into my game and see if he lives up to the talk?
First things first, I had to get him into the game. He wasn’t in the default rosters, which was a bummer. But, I remembered there’s this whole community vault thing where people upload custom players. So I dove into that, and sure enough, there were a bunch of different versions of Skenes. I picked one that seemed pretty realistic, based on his stats and ratings, and downloaded it.

Adding Him to My Team
Next, I added him to my team. I play Diamond Dynasty mostly, so I wanted to see how he’d do in that mode. I tossed him into my rotation and started playing some games. The first few games were a little rough, mostly because I was getting used to his pitching style. He’s got this crazy fastball, but his control wasn’t always there. I was walking a lot of batters at first.
- Experimenting with his pitches.
- Figuring out the best way to use him.
- Noticed he was really good against righties.
But I kept at it, and after a while, I started to get the hang of it. I learned how to mix up his pitches better, use his fastball to set up his off-speed stuff. And man, once I got it down, he was a beast. I started striking out tons of batters, and he was keeping the runs to a minimum.
Dominating the Competition
I played a bunch of games with him, and he just kept getting better and better. He’s definitely one of the most fun pitchers I’ve used in the game. He felt powerful, like I could really dominate with him on the mound. It’s awesome to see how the game creators try to capture the essence of these real-life players.
So yeah, that’s been my experience with Paul Skenes in “MLB The Show.” It took a little bit of work to get him in the game and figure out how to use him, but it was totally worth it. He’s a blast to play with, and I can see why everyone’s so excited about him in real life. Now I’m even more stoked to follow his actual career and see how he does in the big leagues!
