Man, the NBA trade deadline is always a wild ride, and this year was no exception. I spent the whole day glued to my phone, refreshing Twitter every five seconds. I even set up my laptop with multiple tabs open, one for each major sports news site. It was crazy! I had to make sure I was on top of every rumor and whisper.
I started the day by catching up on all the pre-deadline chatter. You know, reading those articles where they speculate about who might get moved and all that. I have my favorite team, I don’t want to get anyone mad by saying which one, but I have it. I was hoping they’d make a big splash, maybe land a star player who could push them over the top. You never know in this league!
As the day went on, the rumors started flying. I was reading everything I could find, trying to figure out what was real and what was just noise. I joined a few online forums and live chats. It was a total madhouse, but it was fun to see everyone getting hyped up. People were throwing out trade ideas left and right, some realistic, some totally bonkers.
The waiting was the hardest part. I felt like I was holding my breath for hours. Every time my phone buzzed, I jumped, thinking it was finally the big news I was waiting for.
