Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today, I was messing around and got curious about something kinda random: NBA players from Mexico. I mean, we always hear about the big names, but I wanted to dig a little deeper. So, I started this little project to find out who these players are.
First, I just did a basic search online. It’s like the easiest way to start, right? I typed in “NBA players from Mexico” and boom, a bunch of results popped up. I clicked on a few articles and started making a list.

Here’s what I found:
- Jaime Jaquez Jr. – This guy is currently with the Miami Heat. I saw some highlights of him, and he’s pretty good! Apparently, he’s only the sixth Mexican citizen to play in the NBA.
- Eduardo Najera – This name came up a lot. He’s retired now, but he had a decent career.
- Horacio Llamas – He was one of the first ones, I think. It’s cool to see how he paved the way.
- Gustavo Ayon – Another player who had some time in the league.
- Jorge Gutierrez – I found some info about him playing for a few different teams.
- Juan Toscano-Anderson – This one is interesting because he’s also played for the Mexican national team.
- Adam Parada-He is 41 years old. He played Centre for Halcones.
After getting the names, I tried to find out more about each player. I looked up their stats, what teams they played for, and any cool stories about them. It was a bit of work, going through different websites and all, but it was fun.
For example, I found out that Eduardo Najera was drafted in 2000 and played for 12 seasons. That’s a long time! And Jaime Jaquez Jr., the Heat player, is still early in his career, so it’ll be cool to see how he does.
Honestly, I didn’t realize there were this many players from Mexico in the NBA. It’s awesome to see the diversity in the league. This little project was just for fun, but I learned a lot. Maybe next time, I’ll look into players from other countries.
Anyway, that’s all for now. It felt good to share this with you all. Catch you in the next post!
