Alright, so I wanted to get the latest update for NBA 2K23 on my PC. I’d heard there were some gameplay tweaks and roster updates, and I was itching to try them out.
First, I fired up Steam – that’s where I bought the game. Usually, updates download automatically, but I wanted to make sure. I navigated to my library, found NBA 2K23, and right-clicked on it.

From the menu that popped up, I selected “Properties”. This opened a new window with a bunch of tabs.
- I clicked on the “Updates” tab.
- There’s a dropdown menu there that lets you choose how updates are handled. Mine was already set to “Always keep this game updated,” which is what I wanted.
I noticed an option “verify integrity of game files”, so I clicked it. It started. It might take several minutes.
Just to be extra sure,I Checked for the game to be updated. Steam started downloading something! It wasn’t a huge file, but it was definitely an update.
Once the download finished, Steam automatically installed the update. It took a few minutes, and I just waited patiently.
Ready to Go
After the installation was complete, I launched the game. Everything seemed normal, but I could tell there were some small changes in the player movements and animations. I jumped into a quick game to check out the updated rosters, and sure enough, everything was current.
It’s great that it’s generally smooth and easy to keep games updated on PC. All it took was a few clicks, and I was good to go with the latest version of NBA 2K23.
