Okay, folks, let’s dive into this “most hated NFL teams by state” thing I messed around with today. It seemed like a fun little project, so I gave it a shot.
First, I needed some data. I mean, you can’t figure out who hates which team without, you know, asking people. So, I went hunting online. I stumbled across some surveys and maps that were already put together. Nothing fancy, just some basic stuff showing which teams got the most thumbs-down in each state.

Once I grabbed that info, I was good to go. No need to build anything, just needed to look at it, and then try to explain what I saw in a plan way.
My Observations
I have observed some interesting facts during my experiment. Here’s some interesting information below:
- Some states were super obvious. Like, no surprise, certain teams are just despised in their rival’s territory.
- Then there were some head-scratchers. Some states seemed to hate teams that, honestly, I couldn’t figure out a good reason for. Maybe it’s some ancient rivalry I don’t know about.
So, what did I actually do? I took these polls and maps, I eyeballed them to create some notes, then I just started to put my notes together. No coding, no databases, nothing like that. Just straight-up looking at data and writing down what I saw.
It wasn’t rocket science, but it was a fun little exercise. It’s always interesting to see what people are passionate about, even if it’s just hating a sports team! I think I have all the data I need after taking notes, so I’ll be ready to share more later.
