Okay so yesterday I fired up MLB The Show 24, saw the Egg Hunt event was live, and immediately went “Eggs? How do I get those?!” Felt kinda lost at first, just hopping into random games hoping those colored eggs would magically appear. Yeah, didn’t work out so well.
How It Went At First
I started simple, jumped into a Conquest game against the CPU on Rookie. Figured easy win, maybe some eggs. Played a whole 9-inning game, smashed the poor CPU, celebrated my win… and zip. Zilch. Nada eggs. Not a single one. Felt pretty dumb, gotta be honest. Where the heck were these things hiding?

That Changed
I started paying attention. Loaded another Conquest game against a different team. This time, before I even threw the first pitch, I saw them! Little green eggs, just sitting out there on the field! They weren’t in some hidden spot either, right out in the open near first base and third base. So obvious once you know where to look. Felt like slapping my forehead. “DUH.” So that was the trick: you don’t get them after the game, you find them during it!
How To Actually Get Eggs Easy
Here’s the no-brainer method I figured out:
- Mode is Key: Go into Conquest. Doesn’t really matter which map, pick one you need or want to play.
- Find the Eggs FIRST: When the game loads, immediately pause it. Go to the Field View or whatever camera mode lets you look around the whole stadium easily. Spin the view. Eggs are usually sitting in foul territory down the lines. Sometimes center field area too.
- Seen ‘Em? Good. Quit. Yeah, seriously. Once you’ve spotted some eggs on the field during that game, just quit back to the Conquest map. Boom. Eggs counted. Didn’t have to play a single pitch.
- Rinse, Wash, Repeat: Do this again. Find another tile on the Conquest map, attack it, load into the game, spot the eggs (check different corners!), quit out. Eggs added.
Other Tricks and What Didn’t Work
- Moments: Saw a tip about Moments. Tried one. Spent time actually completing the Moment goal… wasted effort. No eggs dropped after. Just skip Moments entirely for this.
- Multiplayer is Pain: Tried a Ranked game early on. Got wrecked by some try-hard. Checked during pauses – maybe saw an egg? After I lost and got back to the menu, couldn’t tell for sure if it counted. Way too much hassle and stress. Avoid online games for egg hunting, seriously.
- Mini Seasons: Seems better? Some folks reckon the drop rates for eggs after games are higher in Mini Seasons. Probably valid if you actually wanna play games for the hunt, not just grab eggs. But if you just want eggs fast and cheap? Conquest Quit is king.
So yeah, spent maybe an hour last night just loading into Conquest games, spotting the eggs like I was bird watching, quitting out. Made serious progress without breaking a sweat. Way better than my initial “play and pray” strategy. Go grab those eggs!
