Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this here “MLB The Show 23” game. My grandkid’s been playin’ it day and night, and he’s always lookin’ for a shortcut, a little somethin’ somethin’ to get ahead. He keeps askin’ me ’bout them cheat codes. Well, lemme tell ya, from what I gather, there ain’t no cheat codes for this game. Nope, not a one. Seems like them fancy game makers, they don’t do that stuff no more.

Back in my day, games were simple. You wanted to win, you just, well, you just played better! But these young’uns, they always wantin’ the easy way out. Can’t blame ’em, I guess. Life’s hard enough as it is.
So, if there ain’t no cheat codes, how do you get good at this “MLB The Show” thingamajig? Well, my grandkid, he told me a few things. He says you gotta be patient at the plate. Don’t go swingin’ at everythin’. Wait for a good pitch, somethin’ right down the middle. He calls it a “fat pitch.” I guess that means it’s easy to hit. Don’t swing at nothin’ that ain’t good, ‘specially when you got two strikes. Then you’re just askin’ for trouble.
He also said somethin’ ’bout pre-orderin’. Apparently, if you bought the game early, you got some extra stuff. Like special players or somethin’. I dunno, sounds like a racket to me. Makin’ you pay extra just to get a leg up. But that’s how they do things these days, I reckon.
- Be patient at the plate: Don’t swing at bad pitches. Wait for the “fat pitch”.
- Two strikes, be careful: Don’t go swingin’ at just anything when you got two strikes against ya.
- Pre-ordering: If you pre-ordered the game, you might have got some extra goodies. Lucky you.
Now, I heard tell of some website, somethin’ called “U4GM.” My grandkid says you can buy “Stubs” there. What are “Stubs,” you ask? Well, beats me. Sounds like some kinda game money or somethin’. You buy these Stubs, and then you can get better players or somethin’. Again, seems like a way to spend more money to me. But hey, if you got the cash and you wanna win, go for it. Just don’t tell your grandma I told you to do it!
They also got these “tips and tricks” and “walkthroughs” and “secrets” floatin’ around the internet. Sounds fancy, but it’s just folks sharin’ how they play the game. Like I said, back in my day, we figured this stuff out ourselves. But these kids, they got the whole world at their fingertips. They can look up anythin’.

So, there you have it. No cheat codes, just gotta play smart and maybe spend a little extra money if you’re so inclined. And remember, patience is key. Just like in life, you can’t go swingin’ at everythin’ that comes your way. Gotta wait for the right opportunity. And if you get two strikes, well, you better be extra careful.
And one more thing, don’t go spendin’ all your money on them Stubs. You gotta save some for a rainy day, ya hear? And go outside and get some fresh air every now and then. This game ain’t everything. It’s just a game. Remember what your grandma told ya.
That’s all I got to say ’bout this here “MLB The Show 23.” Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about video games is makin’ my head spin.
