Well now, if you ever been through MLB, that big ol’ airport, you might’ve noticed they been workin’ on fixin’ it up. They call it a terminal rebuild or something fancy like that. But let me tell ya, it’s been a big ol’ project, and they been puttin’ a whole lotta money into it, around $72 million, they say. That’s a whole lotta cash for just fixin’ up a place where folks go flyin’ in and outta. I ain’t the best with numbers, but even I know that ain’t small change.
Now, they ain’t just doin’ a little touch-up here and there. No, no. This is a full-on overhaul. The terminal is gettin’ a major facelift, so it’s all shiny and new for all them people who fly in and out. I reckon it’s gonna be a whole lot better than what it used to be, but don’t hold your breath, it’s takin’ time. I heard they had a ceremony back in October 2021 where they topped out the whole project, so that’s somethin’ big. It means they’re pretty much done with most of the structure, but they still got a good bit of work left to do before it’s all finished up. Last I heard, they’re expectin’ it to be done by March 2022. But you know how these things go, don’t count your chickens before they hatch!
One thing that’s for sure, they ain’t just messin’ around. This rebuild means they gonna be able to fit more folks in, and it’s gonna make the place a lot more convenient, especially for the ones comin’ in from outta the country. They say it’s gonna have a lotta new shops, snack bars, and even some duty-free stuff to buy. So, if you got a bit of extra cash and you wanna pick up some fancy trinkets or snacks, you’ll be able to do that right there in the terminal. I reckon it’ll be mighty handy for them folks that got time to kill before their flight leaves.
Now, I don’t know all the details, but I do know this: The place was needin’ some work. It was gettin’ real old, and folks had been complainin’. It didn’t have enough space for all them people comin’ in and out, and the whole place was just feelin’ a little bit cramped. But with all this new expansion, they say it’ll be a lot easier to get around and it’ll look a whole lot better too. Can’t say I blame ’em for fixin’ it up; if I was flyin’ in and outta that place, I’d want it to be nice too!
When it’s all done, they’re gonna have more gates, more restaurants, and a whole lot more places for folks to shop. And you know how it is, when you’re sittin’ there waitin’ for your flight, you get a little hungry, maybe a little bored too. So, all them new shops and snacks are gonna make the wait a whole lot easier to handle. Plus, for folks flyin’ internationally, they got them duty-free shops where you can pick up stuff that ain’t so easy to find back home. So, that’s a nice little bonus.
Now, it ain’t just about the passengers, you know. I hear this rebuild is also gonna make things better for the folks workin’ at the airport. I reckon they need more space too, to handle all the people and all the bags that go through there every day. So, it’s not just the travelers gettin’ a boost, it’s the folks keepin’ the place runnin’ too. And with that big ol’ investment of $72 million, you can bet they’re hopin’ this rebuild is gonna bring in more money and make things smoother all around.

So, if you’re lookin’ to fly through MLB anytime soon, just know things are changin’. It might still be a little bumpy here and there while they finish up all the work, but once it’s all said and done, you’re gonna see a big difference. More space, better shops, and a whole lot more to do while you’re waitin’ for your flight to board. It’s gonna make travelin’ through that airport a whole lot easier, I reckon. So, I’d say it’s worth the wait. Might even make it feel like a little less of a hassle to get on that plane.
