Okay, so I wanted a fun way to pick an MLB team randomly the other day. You know, maybe for deciding who to follow more closely this week, or just messing around.
Getting Started
First thing, I thought, how do I even do this? Like, write names on paper and pull from a hat? Seemed kinda old school and messy. I figured there had to be something online, right? So, I hopped on my computer and started searching.
I typed in stuff like “random MLB team generator” or “spin wheel for baseball teams”. A bunch of options popped up. Some looked complicated, some were just lists, but then I saw these online wheel spinner tools.
Setting Up the Wheel
Found one that looked pretty simple. It basically gave you a blank wheel and you could put whatever you wanted on the different slices. Perfect.
Next step, I needed all the team names. Duh. Quick search got me the list of all 30 MLB teams. Took a minute to find a clean list I could easily use.
Then, the slightly tedious part. I had to get those names into the wheel tool. Most of these sites have a box where you just list the entries, one per line. So I just copied and pasted, or maybe typed them out one by one, I forget exactly. Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles… all the way down to the Washington Nationals. Took a few minutes but wasn’t hard.
- Got the list of 30 teams.
- Found a spinner wheel website.
- Entered each team name into the wheel’s entry list.
Didn’t really mess with colors or sounds much, just wanted the basic function working.
Spinning the Wheel!
Alright, moment of truth. All 30 teams loaded onto the virtual wheel. I clicked the big ‘SPIN’ button right in the middle.
The wheel started spinning on the screen, colors blurring, names flying by. It’s kinda fun watching it slow down, wondering where it’s gonna land. Click, click, click… slower… slower… and it stopped. Landed on the Seattle Mariners. Nice!

Just to make sure it wasn’t rigged or something, I spun it again. This time, the New York Mets came up. Then the Chicago Cubs. Cool, it worked just like I wanted.
Final Thoughts
So yeah, that was my little adventure in making an MLB teams spin the wheel. Didn’t have to code anything fancy. Just found an online tool, plugged in the team names, and boom – instant random team picker.
It’s pretty handy, honestly. Could use it for picking teams in a video game, settling a friendly bet, or just for a random bit of fun. Simple process, got the job done. Pretty happy with how easy it was.
