Alright, so I’ve been wanting to get a new coat for a while now, something that could keep me warm during these freezing months. I started looking around, and the whole MLB coat thing caught my eye. I’m not a huge baseball fan, but I liked the style, and I figured it would be pretty solid quality since it’s all official merch and stuff.
First, I did some digging online. Checked out a bunch of different online stores that sell these coats. I saw fleece ones, those French Terry sweatshirts they talked about, and a whole lot of pullovers and track jackets. There was a good selection, honestly, lots of different styles and colors. I wanted something classic, but still kinda cool looking. Also important to make sure that the coat was right for these winter times.

Then I started checking out actual stores. Not that many places have these in stock, but I managed to find a few. I tried on a bunch of different ones, getting a feel for the material, how heavy they were, and if they fit right. Some were too bulky, others too thin. I wanted something in between – warm but not making me look like a marshmallow, you know?
- Fleece Jacket: Super soft, but I wasn’t sure if it would be warm enough for the real cold days.
- French Terry Sweatshirt: This one felt nice, a bit more stylish, but again, maybe not the best for heavy-duty winter weather.
- Pullovers: These were cool, especially the ones with the team logos. But I was leaning more towards a full-zip coat.
- Track Jackets: These were definitely more for style than warmth. Good for fall maybe, but not what I needed.
My Personal Selections of Coats
After a lot of back and forth, I finally settled on a classic MLB full-zip jacket. It’s got a thick lining, so it’s definitely warm. And it’s got that cool, retro look that I was going for. I made sure it is water-resistant. The price was a bit higher than I initially wanted to spend, but I figure it’s worth it. It feels like it’ll last a long time, and it’s way better than those cheap coats that fall apart after one season.
Got the coat home, wore it out a few times, and yeah, I’m pretty happy with it. It’s kept me warm even when it’s been really windy and cold outside. Plus, I’ve gotten a few compliments on it, which is always nice. I do feel good when I wear it out. Feels like I made a good choice. This is important since I will be wearing it almost every day. So, all in all, a successful shopping mission for sure!
