Alright, so a few days ago, I decided to make a map of all the MLB fields. I’ve always been a huge baseball fan, and with the season in full swing, I thought it’d be a fun little project. So, where did I start? Well, first I needed a list of all the teams and their respective stadiums. There are 30 teams in total, spread out all across the country. I started making a list, jotting down names like the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, and so on.
Once I had my list, I started to mark down the stadium locations. Now, I could have just looked up each one individually, but where’s the fun in that? Instead, I decided to do a bit of exploring myself. I started with the ones I knew off the top of my head, like Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and Citi Field in Queens, then filled the rest in with some online searching. Man, there are some stadiums in places you wouldn’t expect!

Getting Down to Details
After I had the general locations, I wanted to get a bit more specific. I pulled up the list of the stadiums and started to find out which one is the oldest or newest. Turned out Fenway Park in Boston is the oldest one, having opened way back in 1912. On the other hand, Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, is the newest, opening its doors in 2020.
Marking and Mapping
Now came the fun part – actually making the map. I thought about how to visually represent each stadium. Should I use little baseball icons? Team logos? I decided to keep it simple and just use markers, but I color-coded them by division – you know, AL East, NL Central, that kind of thing. It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done, and it looks pretty neat if I do say so myself.
Interesting Finds
While I was doing all this, I stumbled upon some interesting tidbits. Did you know that the closest MLB stadiums to each other are Yankee Stadium and Citi Field? They’re both in New York City, just a few miles apart. And get this, Nashville is pretty much smack-dab in the middle of three MLB cities – Atlanta, Cincinnati, and St. Louis. Each one is about 200 to 250 miles away. It’s like a baseball fan’s paradise!
So, there you have it – my little adventure in mapping out all the MLB fields. It was a fun way to combine my love for baseball with a bit of geography and a dash of trivia. Plus, now I’ve got a cool map to show off to my buddies. Maybe next, I’ll tackle the minor leagues. But for now, I think I’ll just sit back and enjoy the game.
