Okay, here’s my experience about “how to slide mlb the show 24”.
So, I tried to figure out how to slide in MLB The Show 24 the other day. It seemed simple enough, but man, it took some trial and error. First, I jumped into a game, you know, just a casual exhibition match. I got a guy on first, tried to steal second, and figured that was the perfect time to practice my sliding.

I remembered reading somewhere that you gotta use the L1 button and the right stick. Okay, cool. As my runner was sprinting towards second, I held down L1 and… nothing. He just ran straight into the base like a bull in a china shop. Alright, that didn’t work. Maybe I was too early? Or too late?
My Practice
- First attempt: Held L1, ran into the base. Fail.
- Second attempt: Held L1 earlier, still ran into the base, and got tagged out.
- Third attempt: Waited until the last second, pushed up on the right stick while holding L1. The runner kinda did something that resembled a slide, but it was ugly and still out.
Then after a few more tries. I held down L1 and pushed down on the right stick as I was approaching the base. Boom! My guy slid headfirst into second, safe! It wasn’t the prettiest slide, but it worked. Finally, I can slide in the game.
I kept practicing, and it got a little smoother each time. Turns out, timing is everything. You gotta hold L1 and flick that right stick in the direction you want to slide just as you’re getting to the bag. I tried all different types of slides – headfirst, feet first, even some fancy hook slides. It’s actually kinda fun once you get the hang of it. It definitely adds another layer of control to the game.
So, yeah, that’s my story of figuring out how to slide in MLB The Show 24. It wasn’t as easy as I thought, but with a bit of practice, I finally got it down. Now I’m sliding into bases like a pro, most of the time anyway. It just takes some getting used to, like anything else, I guess.
