Well, folks, if you’re sittin’ there all upset, thinkin’ you can just up and ask for a trade like in them older games, let me tell ya, you’re gonna be mighty disappointed in MLB The Show 24. Ain’t no button to press to make the manager give ya a new team like it used to be in them past games. Back in the day, you could just go to your agent and say, “Hey, I don’t like it here, I want out,” and they’d get it done. But, well, them developers done taken that option away. I don’t know why, and I reckon they ain’t explainin’ it neither.

Now, if you’re playin’ in “Road to the Show” mode, well, you can still get traded, but it ain’t as easy as just askin’. Nope, now you gotta wait for the phone call. That’s right, the agent might call you up outta the blue, and when they do, if you tell ‘em you’re feelin’ stuck and need a change of scenery, then that’s when the trade might happen. Sometimes, though, you gotta wait for your agent to make that call, and it ain’t guaranteed. So, you gotta be patient, just like you would wait for the crops to grow.
It ain’t all hopeless though. If you wanna get traded real quick, one way is to play real good or real bad. Yep, I know that don’t make much sense, but sometimes if you’re doin’ well and your team sees you shinin’, they might just send you to a new team to give ya a fresh start. Or, if you’re not playin’ so hot and they think you ain’t cuttin’ it, they might trade you outta there, too. So, it’s all about what you do on the field. Perform good, and who knows, maybe a new opportunity will come your way.
Now, let me tell ya, it ain’t all about the trades. There’s a whole lotta things to do in MLB The Show 24 that don’t require askin’ for a trade. Like, if you’re playin’ Diamond Dynasty, you can head on over to the Marketplace and buy you some perks. Don’t know what them are? Well, let me explain. Perks are like little boosts that help your player do better in the game. You can buy these perks with them digital Stubs they sell in the game. You get yourself up to four perks for your player, and they help make you stronger, faster, or just all around better. So, while you can’t ask for a trade, you can still improve your player to make sure you’re at the top of your game.
And while we’re on the subject, don’t go thinkin’ that just because you can’t ask for a trade, it’s all bad. The game is still full of ways to make things interesting, like them agent calls or meetings with the manager. If you’re doing bad, your manager might even give you a good talkin’ to, or if you’re doing great, they might start talkin’ about your future with the team. So, no, you don’t get to pick and choose, but you still got some say in how things go.
So, if you were hopin’ for that ol’ trade request button, I’m afraid it ain’t comin’ back this time. But don’t go throwin’ your controller out the window just yet. You still got plenty of ways to shake things up in MLB The Show 24. Just keep playin’, and see what happens next. Who knows? Maybe that trade’ll come after all, and you’ll be wearin’ a new uniform before you know it!
