Well now, lemme tell ya, I been to a good few of them ballparks, watchin’ them baseball games and all. I got me a little list, ya see. Every time I go, I mark it down. Keeps me busy, keeps me remembering the good times, and most importantly, it helps me keep track of all them teams I done seen play. So, if you’re one of them folks who’s always wonderin’ how many teams they’ve seen in person, let me give ya a little checklist idea. Ain’t nothin’ too fancy, but it works!

First things first, ya need a good ol’ list of teams. There’s 30 teams in the MLB, ya know, and if you’re like me, you might be lucky enough to catch a game here and there. Some teams play in big fancy parks, and others, well, they got their own charm. Now, if you ain’t been to all 30 yet, don’t be ashamed. It’s a big ol’ country out there, and not everyone can get everywhere.
- National League East: Braves, Marlins, Mets, Phillies, Nationals
- National League Central: Cubs, Reds, Brewers, Pirates, Cardinals
- National League West: Diamondbacks, Rockies, Dodgers, Padres, Giants
- American League East: Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays
- American League Central: Indians, Tigers, Royals, Twins, White Sox
- American League West: Astros, Angels, Athletics, Mariners, Rangers
Now, the fun part is not just checkin’ them off, but makin’ a note of all the little details that come with each game. I ain’t the best with all that fancy tech stuff, but I do keep me a little notebook or spreadsheet. Y’all can use a fancy app or something, if that’s what you prefer. But me? I like writin’ it down.
Here’s some things I track:
- Who played: You gotta know which teams were there, right? Sometimes, it’s nice to remember if it was a big rivalry or just a regular game.
- Score: Can’t forget who won! That’s the whole point of the game, after all.
- Who pitched: I might not remember every player, but I sure remember the pitchers! They’re important, y’know.
- Who I went with: Did I go with my son? Or maybe just a neighbor? It’s always nice to have someone to chat with during the game.
- Duration: Some games go on forever, don’t they? Others are quick and done before ya know it. I keep track of how long I sat there watchin’!
- Attendance: Sometimes, the stands are packed, and other times, well, not so much. I like to know how many folks showed up.
Now, I ain’t been to all 30 parks yet, but I’m gettin’ there. A few of them are far off, y’know? Like, out west or down south. But that’s okay, I’ll get there eventually. For now, I got a few good stories about the ones I’ve seen.
Some stadiums stick with ya, ya know? Like the one in Chicago. They got that ol’ ballpark smell, and every time I’m there, I can just feel the history in the air. I remember the first time I saw a Cubs game. I couldn’t hardly believe it, such a big crowd! The energy was electric, and the food smelled so good, I was about to eat my hat.

And then there’s the one in Boston. Fenway Park, they call it. A real old-timey place, and you can tell they’ve been playin’ baseball there for years. It was a hot summer day when I went, and folks were sweatin’ like pigs. But they didn’t mind none. Everybody was excited, cheerin’ on the Red Sox.
Keepin’ track of ballparks is a real good way to look back on them memories, too. If you’ve been to a few different stadiums, I bet you got stories to tell. Maybe you remember your first home run ball, or the time you sat through a rain delay. Maybe you just remember that one game where the team came from behind and won in the last inning. Those are the moments that stick with ya.
And let’s not forget about all them ballparks I’ve seen from the outside. Y’know, sometimes you drive by and just can’t catch a game. Maybe it’s the off season or the timing’s wrong. But even just drivin’ past them big ballparks, you can feel the excitement in the air. I’ve passed by a lot of ‘em, but I’ll get there one day. Just gotta keep workin’ on that list!
So if you’re out there wonderin’ how many ballparks you’ve seen, or how many MLB teams you’ve watched, I reckon it’s time to start keepin’ track. Make your own little checklist, write it down, and start crossin’ off those teams. You’ll be surprised how quick it adds up!
In the end, baseball is all about the memories. Whether you’re sittin’ in the stands or watchin’ on TV, it’s a game that brings people together. So go ahead, make that list, and get to work on seein’ all them teams. You won’t regret it, I promise ya that.
