So, I got really into golf podcasts lately. Helps pass the time on my commute, you know? But I felt like I was stuck listening to the same couple of shows over and over. Wanted to find some new ones, maybe see what other folks thought were the best out there.
My first thought was simple enough: just search for it online. So, I sat down with my laptop one evening, probably should have been doing something else, but hey, golf calls.

My Search Kicks Off
I started typing things like “best golf podcasts” into the search bar. Got a ton of results, mostly articles with titles like “Top 10 Golf Podcasts You MUST Listen To!”. Okay, fair enough. Clicked on a few.
Lots of lists, yeah. But “rankings”? That felt a bit different. Most were just lists, maybe with a short description. Hard to tell if it was a real ranking based on anything solid, or just the writer’s personal favorites. Some lists seemed old, mentioning stuff from last season like it just happened. Not super helpful.
I tried getting more specific. Typed in “golf podcast rankings” and “top rated golf podcasts”. That helped a little. Found some discussion threads on golf forums, which was interesting. Real people arguing about their favorites. That felt a bit more genuine than some random blog posts, though still just opinions, right?
Digging Deeper
I started looking closer at the sources. Some websites looked professional, but you could tell they were just churning out content. Others felt more like dedicated golf sites, which I trusted a bit more. I even checked the podcast apps themselves, you know, looking at the charts and ratings there. That gives you some idea of popularity, at least.
It wasn’t easy finding a definitive “ranking”. It seems like unlike movies or books, podcasts don’t have that one big respected ranking system. It’s more scattered.
- Some lists focused purely on PGA Tour news and analysis.
- Others were more about golf instruction and tips.
- And then you had the ones that were just buddies chatting about golf, more entertainment focused.
So, “ranking” depends a lot on what you’re actually looking for in a podcast.
Trying Them Out
What I ended up doing was grabbing a few names that popped up repeatedly across different lists and forums. Especially the ones people seemed really passionate about in the discussions.

I subscribed to maybe five or six new ones. Didn’t cost anything, so why not? Started listening to them one by one over the next few days. On my drive, while doing chores, hitting balls at the range.
Did I find the absolute best based on some official ranking? Probably not, because like I said, that doesn’t really seem to exist in a clear way. But did I find some new shows I actually enjoy? Yeah, definitely. Found one that does really deep dives into player stats which is cool, and another that’s just hilarious guys talking about their weekend rounds. Dropped a couple others after one episode because they just weren’t my style.
So, the process wasn’t about finding a single, perfect list. It was more about using those lists and discussions as a starting point to explore and find what worked for me. Took a bit of effort, sifting through stuff, but worth it to freshen up my listening queue.
