Alright, folks, let’s dive into my mining escapades in Dragonflight. I wanted to figure out the “best” mining specialization, and boy, was it a journey. I’m no expert, but I like to think I’m pretty good at figuring things out – especially when it comes to making gold in the game!
My Mining Experiment Begins
First things first, I leveled up my mining. Nothing fancy, just hitting nodes as I found them. I wanted to get a good feel for the basic process, so I hammered my mouse and flied to every single mining node I could find, at first I thought it was very tedious, but soon get used to it.

Once I hit a decent skill level, I started looking at the specializations. I read through all the descriptions, trying to decipher which ones sounded the most profitable. I felt like a kid in a candy store, not knowing which sweet to pick.
Testing the Specializations
I decided to try out each specialization for a set amount of time, a couple of hours for each. I figured this would give me a somewhat “scientific” way to compare them.
- Metallurgy: This one seemed focused on getting more of the basic ores. I spent my time flying around, smacking rocks, and keeping track of how much ore I collected. At the begining I thought it was very cool, but when I saw the results, I realized it was just so-so.
- Mining Process: This was all about finesse and getting those extra goodies like Rousing Essences. I focused on using my abilities and trying to maximize my yields. It felt a little more involved than just straight-up mining.
- Mastering the Elements: This specialization focused on, well, elemental ores. I hunted down those specific nodes and tried to see if this path was more lucrative.
The Results (My Opinion, Of Course!)
After hours of mining (and a few too many energy drinks), I started crunching the numbers. I looked at how much of each material I gathered and checked the auction house prices to see what was actually worth the most.
Honestly, it was pretty close! But, for my playstyle and on my server, I found that Mining Process, with a focus on getting those extra Rousing Essences, tended to be the most profitable. It wasn’t a HUGE difference, but every little bit counts, right?
I even did some tweaking within Mining Process, experimenting with different sub-specializations to see if I could squeeze out even more profit. Because, why not?
My Final Thoughts
So, the “best” mining specialization? It really depends on what you enjoy and what the market looks like on your server. For me, Mining Process, with a focus on those extra materials, worked out the best. But, don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works for you! And hey, if you find something that works even better, let me know! We’re all in this gold-making game together.
I spent a huge amount of my time into this, and finally, I find my own way! It was awesome!
