Alright, so I was on a mission the other day to track down the Gordon football schedule. You’d think in this day and age, with information flying all over the place, something like a local football team’s schedule would be dead simple to find. Well, let me tell you, it wasn’t quite a walk in the park, not at first anyway.
My first move, like probably everyone else’s, was to just punch “Gordon football schedule” into the good old internet search bar. Hit enter, and what do I get? A whole bunch of noise. Some links looked promising, but then they’d be for last year’s season, or some random forum where people were asking for the schedule. Not super helpful, you know? It’s like digging through a messy attic hoping to find one specific photo.
I spent a good few minutes clicking around, getting a bit frustrated, I won’t lie. It’s one of those things, isn’t it? You expect it to take two seconds, and then it turns into a mini-project. I just wanted to know when the games were! Got a nephew who’s getting into football, and I figured it’d be cool to catch a game with him, show him some local team spirit.
So, after striking out with the general search, I took a step back and thought, “Okay, where would this information actually live? Who’s responsible for putting it out there?” My mind went to the school itself. Most schools have websites these days, even if they’re sometimes a bit clunky to navigate. Figured that was my next best bet.
I found what I thought was the official school website. Then the fun part began – trying to find the athletics section. Clicked here, clicked there. You know how it is with some of those sites, menus within menus. Finally, I stumbled upon “Athletics,” then had to look for “Football.” It wasn’t exactly front and center, let me tell you. Tucked away a bit, like they were testing your dedication.
But, perseverance paid off! There it was. The current season’s schedule. Dates, opponents, times, the whole nine yards. I quickly took a screenshot, just to be safe. Didn’t want to have to go on that treasure hunt again anytime soon.
It’s funny, sometimes the most basic information requires a little bit of old-fashioned digging. It’s not like it was hidden on purpose, probably just how these things get organized. Or maybe I just missed the obvious link the first five times I looked. Entirely possible, haha.
Anyway, schedule secured. Now I can actually plan to go to a game. That’s the important part. So, if you’re ever looking for it, my advice is to try the direct route – head for the school’s own online space first. Might save you a bit of aimless wandering through the internet’s back alleys.
