I’ve always wanted to play golf, and this time in Kuala Lumpur, I finally got my chance. I did some homework online beforehand, just casually browsing, not really getting into the details, just to get a general idea.
So, I started by booking a course. I found one nearby, not too far away, just a short drive, which was pretty convenient. The booking process was a breeze, just a few clicks online, and I got a confirmation email right away. They had different time slots available, so I picked one that worked for me.

Hitting the Course
When I got there, the place was huge! Green everywhere, it was a really nice setting. I checked in at the reception, and they were super friendly. They gave me a quick rundown of the course layout and some basic rules. I rented some clubs since I didn’t bring my own. They had a decent selection, and I picked a set that felt comfortable.
I started at the driving range to warm up. I hadn’t played in ages, so my first few swings were a bit rusty. But it started to come back to me. I spent a good amount of time there, practicing my swing and getting a feel for the clubs. Then I moved on to the putting green. I tried to get a sense of the speed and the slopes. This was a bit tricky, but I managed to sink a few putts, which was encouraging.
- First Hole: I teed off, and it was a decent shot, straight down the fairway. I got a feel for the distance and the wind.
- Second Hole: This one was a bit more challenging, with a water hazard. I played it safe and managed to avoid the water, but my score wasn’t great.
- Third Hole: This one had a tricky dogleg. I tried to cut the corner but ended up in the rough. Lesson learned.
I kept going, hole after hole. Some were good, some were bad, it was a mixed bag. I lost a few balls along the way, but that’s just part of the game, right? The weather was great, a bit sunny, but there was a nice breeze, so it wasn’t too hot. I saw some other golfers on the course, some looked like pros, others like me, just having a good time. It was cool to see people of all skill levels enjoying the game.
Wrapping Up
After I finished all the holes, I was pretty tired, but it felt good. It was a solid workout, walking the course and swinging the clubs. I returned the clubs, grabbed a drink at the clubhouse, and just relaxed for a bit, taking in the scenery. I looked at my scorecard, and let’s just say it wasn’t going to break any records, but I didn’t care. I had fun, and that’s what mattered.
Overall, it was a great experience. Playing golf in Kuala Lumpur was definitely a highlight of my trip. I’d love to do it again sometime. Maybe next time, I’ll try a different course, just to mix things up. Playing golf is not that hard, and everyone can start.
