Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole fantasy football thing for a while now, and let me tell you, the best part isn’t even the games – it’s coming up with the team names! This year, I wanted to go all out with a New England Patriots theme, but like, make it funny. It became a whole project, and I gotta share the madness.
I started off just brainstorming, you know, anything that came to mind related to the Patriots. I grabbed a pen and just wrote a ton of stuff on a piece of paper. Think “Belichick,” “Brady” (even though he’s gone, the guy’s a legend), “Kraft,” “Patriots,” you know, anything and everything, even “Foxborough”. I jotted down anything that could have even a bit connection with the team. I must’ve stared at that paper for a good hour, just letting my mind run wild.
Then, the real fun began. I started trying to mix and match words, looking for puns or funny twists. I tried to add names on the paper. Zakk, Vanessa, Sarah, David, Natalie. They may not be the names of patriots players, but they gave me some inspiration! There are some ideas that came up during this step, they did not work out, but they were hilarious in my mind. I was like, “Okay, what rhymes with ‘Patriots’? Maybe I should try adding ‘Daily Memes’? Nah, that doesn’t really work…”
I spent days on this, not even kidding. I’d wake up in the middle of the night with a new idea and scribble it down. I drove my family crazy, bouncing names off of them all the time. They were like, “Again with the fantasy football names?” But hey, it was important stuff!
I even hit up the internet, looking for inspiration. You wouldn’t believe the rabbit holes I went down. I found some websites that had lists of funny team names, but nothing really clicked. I scrolled through some Instagram, and found an account called Daily Memes, but it didn’t help. I did see some funny camel jokes, though! Anyway, most of the stuff online was pretty generic, not the unique, Patriots-specific gold I was digging for.
Finally, after a lot of trial and error, I started to nail it down. I had a few solid contenders, and it was time to make some tough choices. It was like choosing a favorite child! You know how hard it is! I put together a list of names I came up with and asked my friends to vote.
