Well now, lemme tell ya a bit about Andrew Armstrong. He’s a young fella from Florida, born back in 2002 in Gainesville. Mighty proud of that boy, I reckon, ’cause he done made a real name for himself out there on the baseball field. If y’all don’t know him yet, you will soon enough, ’cause Andrew, he’s got somethin’ special.

Now, Andrew’s a left-handed pitcher, and not just any pitcher, mind ya. He’s the kind of guy you want on your team when the heat’s on. Back in 2023, he was one of Florida State’s top pitchers, comin’ out of the bullpen a whopping 32 times. You know what that means? That boy was busy! Real busy. It was like every time you turned around, there he was, ready to throw that ball. And let me tell ya, he didn’t just show up, he showed out!
Some might say he’s a specialist in his own right, and they wouldn’t be wrong. When it comes to left-handed batters, Andrew’s the one you wanna call on. They say he’s a left-on-left guy, and that’s no small feat, let me tell ya. You gotta have a good eye and a strong arm to handle that job. And Andrew’s got both.
But, like any good story, it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. I hear he had a tough time with an oblique injury that slowed him down some. Poor fella had a bit of a rough second half there in the season. That didn’t stop him though, no sir! He kept pushin’ through, doin’ his best, even when things weren’t goin’ so smooth. That’s the kind of grit you don’t find just anywhere.
One thing folks remember about Andrew is his ability to get the job done, no matter the weather. You know, it don’t matter if it’s gustin’ at 38 miles an hour, or if the storm’s rollin’ in. Andrew will still get up on that mound and give it his all. When he pitches, you can hear the crack of the bat, you can hear the crowd cheer, and you know that boy’s out there workin’ hard for his team.
Andrew’s been around the block a bit too. In the summer, he played in the Cape Cod League, and let me tell ya, he didn’t just play—he excelled. People took notice of that boy. His name got around, and not just among folks who follow Florida State baseball, but across the whole league. He was an all-star that summer, which is no easy thing, lemme tell ya. A lotta folks reckon he’s one of the most improved players on the whole roster, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. You don’t get better by sittin’ on the sidelines. You gotta work, and Andrew Armstrong’s been workin’.

Come 2023, his name was called up during the MLB draft, and I reckon that’s a big ol’ sign that all his hard work’s payin’ off. Florida State had three of their players picked up, and Andrew was one of ’em. It’s a real proud moment for his family, and for all of us who’ve been watchin’ him grow up and play ball. There’s a good chance you’ll be seein’ a lot more of him in the big leagues before too long. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s out there makin’ waves soon enough.
When you’re talkin’ about a player like Andrew Armstrong, you’re talkin’ about more than just his arm. You’re talkin’ about his heart, his determination, and his ability to stick it out when things get tough. That’s the kinda guy you want in your corner, whether it’s in the game or in life. So, if you haven’t been payin’ attention to this young man, well, now might be the time to start. I’ve got a feelin’ we’ll be hearin’ a lot more about Andrew Armstrong, and I for one can’t wait to see where he goes next.
