Alright, so I’ve been getting really into fantasy basketball lately, specifically dynasty leagues. It’s a whole different beast compared to regular fantasy. You gotta think long-term, not just about this season, but like, the next five seasons! I decided to dive deep and create my very own dynasty rankings, and let me tell you, it was a PROCESS.
First, I opened up a bunch of different fantasy basketball websites. I’m talking ESPN, Yahoo, you name it. I needed to get a feel for what the “experts” were saying. Who are the hot young players? Who are the established stars that are still gonna produce for a few more years?

Then, I grabbed my trusty notebook (yeah, I’m old school like that) and started jotting down names. I divided the players into tiers. You know, like, the “untouchable” superstars, the “solid starters,” the “high-potential young guys,” and the “veterans who might be fading soon” .
- Tier 1: The Gods of Fantasy
- Tier 2: All-Star Caliber, maybe Future Gods
- Tier 3: Solid Contributors, Room to Grow
- Tier 4: The Risky Bunch, Potential Breakouts or Busts
- Tier 5: Aging Vets with some games left.
After that, I got the players ranking by their tiers.
The hardest part was figuring out how to weigh current production versus future potential. Like, do I rank a 22-year-old averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds higher than a 30-year-old averaging 20 and 8? That’s where the real debate started (mostly with myself, in my head, late at night).
I spent hours poring over stats, watching highlight reels, and even reading some player interviews to get a sense of their work ethic and long-term outlook. I felt like a real NBA scout, only without the cool travel perks and expense account.
Finally, after much internal debate and a few minor existential crises, I had a list. It’s not perfect, of course, and it’ll probably change next week based on how everyone’s playing, but it’s MY list. And I’m weirdly proud of it.
It is a interesting experience when I created my own dynasty rankings.
