Alright, so you wanna know about tradin’ in that there MLB The Show 24 game, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t like it used to be back in my day. We didn’t have no fancy buttons to press. If ya wanted somethin’ done, ya had to go out and do it yourself, or sweet talk someone into doin’ it for ya.
Now, from what I hear tell, these young fellers playin’ this here video game, they got it a bit easier, but also harder in some ways. See, in the older games, like that Show 22, ya could just march right up to your agent, or tap a few buttons on that there controller, and say, “Look here, I ain’t happy. Get me outta this here team!” Simple as pie.
But this new game, this Show 24, it’s a whole different kettle of fish. Them game makers, they decided to make things a bit more… well, let’s just say “realistic.” Which, if you ask me, just means more complicated.
So, can you just up and ask for a trade like you used to? Nope. Not anymore. They took that away, for some darn reason or other. I reckon they thought it was too easy, or maybe they just wanted to make us all sweat a little.
- No More Easy Button: That’s right, no more marchin’ into the manager’s office and demandin’ a trade. Them days are gone.
- Waitin’ Game: Now ya gotta play the waitin’ game. Ya gotta sit there and hope your agent calls ya up, or maybe your manager will have a sit-down with ya. And who knows when that’ll be? It’s like waitin’ for rain in a drought.
- Talkin’ to Your Agent: Okay, so you can still talk to your agent, but it ain’t the same. You go to the main menu, find your player interactions, and then you can “contact” your agent. But it ain’t no guarantee he’ll do anything. He might just tell ya to sit tight and keep playin’. Like my old man used to say, “Patience is a virtue, but it ain’t always fun.”
So, what do ya gotta do if you really, really wanna get traded? Well, from what I gather, ya gotta play good. Real good. Hit them balls outta the park, make them fancy catches, and pitch like there’s no tomorrow. The better ya play, the more likely someone’s gonna notice ya and want ya on their team.

And even then, it ain’t a sure thing. Ya still gotta wait for that call, or that meeting. It’s like waitin’ for the rooster to crow, ya know it’s gonna happen eventually, but ya just don’t know when.
This whole thing reminds me of tryin’ to sell a prize-winning pig at the county fair. Ya can’t just walk up to someone and say, “Hey, buy my pig!” Ya gotta show it off, make it look its best, and then wait for someone to come along and make ya an offer. And sometimes, even the best pig in the county don’t sell.
So, my advice to you youngsters is this: Don’t get too hung up on gettin’ traded right away. Focus on playin’ the game, havin’ fun, and doin’ your best. And if a trade comes along, great! If not, well, there’s always next season.
And remember, just like life, this here game ain’t always fair. Sometimes ya get what ya want, and sometimes ya don’t. But that’s just the way it is. So, grab your controller, get out there, and play ball! And who knows, maybe one day you’ll be the one calling the shots, tradin’ players left and right like they were old baseball cards.
One last thing, don’t go throwin’ your controller across the room if ya don’t get traded. It ain’t gonna help nothin’ but breakin’ your stuff. Just keep playin’, keep improvin’, and eventually, good things will happen. Or they won’t. Like I said, life ain’t fair, and neither is this here baseball game sometimes.

So there ya have it. That’s the lowdown on tradin’ in MLB The Show 24, as best as this old gal can tell ya. Now go on and have some fun, ya hear?
