Okay, so, today I’m gonna talk about dual boxing. Basically, it’s like playing a game, but you’re controlling two characters at the same time. Sounds crazy, right? I thought so too, but I wanted to give it a shot, see what the fuss was all about.
First, I picked a game that seemed suitable for this kind of thing. I went with an MMORPG I’ve been playing for a while. It had a pretty good community and seemed like the sort of game where dual boxing wouldn’t be too out of place. I already had a main character, a high-level warrior, so I decided to create a new one, a healer, to complement him.

Getting both characters into the same area was the first hurdle. I had to figure out how to run two instances of the game on my computer at once. That took a bit of googling and messing around with some settings, but eventually, I managed to have both my warrior and my new healer online and ready to go.
- Started by just moving them around together. That was weird, I gotta say. Using one set of keyboard commands to control one character and a different set for the other. It felt like patting my head and rubbing my stomach, but way more complicated.
- Then I tried some simple combat. Sending my warrior in to attack while keeping my healer at a safe distance, casting heals and buffs. It was slow going at first. I kept mixing up the controls, sending my healer charging into battle and leaving my warrior standing there like a lemon.
- But after a while, I started to get the hang of it. I could feel myself getting better at coordinating their movements, their attacks. It was actually pretty satisfying, like conducting a little orchestra of destruction.
I even managed to take on some tougher enemies, stuff that would have been a real challenge for either character on their own. With my warrior tanking and my healer keeping him alive, they were a force to be reckoned with. There are some Instances that are hard to solo, but using my warrior and healer, I managed to complete it. It’s amazing.
I’m still no expert, obviously. There’s a lot more I need to learn, especially when it comes to more complex fights and strategies. But I’m having fun with it. It’s a whole new way to experience a game I thought I knew inside out.
Summary
So, yeah, dual boxing. It’s tricky, it’s a bit mad, but it’s definitely an interesting experience. If you’re looking for a new challenge in your favorite MMORPG, maybe give it a try. Just be prepared to feel like a complete noob again for a while!
