Ok, so you wanna know about this MLB TV lawsuit thing, right? I heard folks talkin’ about it down at the store. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss if you ask me.
What’s it all about? Well, from what I gather, it’s about them MLB fellas, you know, the baseball guys, sharin’ stuff they shouldn’t be sharin’. Like, when you watch them games on your TV or your computer, they’re apparently tellin’ Facebook who you are and what you’re watchin’. Can you believe that? It’s like them peepin’ through your windows, but on the internet. They call it “disclosing personal information,” sounds fancy, but it just means they’re snoopin’ and blabbin’.
Some fella, Bryan Henry, I think his name is, he’s the one who got all riled up about it. He’s sayin’ they didn’t ask him if it was okay to share his watchin’ habits with Facebook. And he ain’t the only one, see? They’re talkin’ about hundreds of thousands of folks, maybe more, who got their info shared without them knowin’. That’s a lot of people, more than you see at the county fair, that’s for sure.
- Now, they’re callin’ it a “class action lawsuit.” That just means a whole bunch of folks are ganging up on MLB, sayin’ they all got wronged the same way.
- They want some money, I reckon. Who wouldn’t? If someone’s been peekin’ at what you’re watchin’ and tellin’ other folks, well, that ain’t right, and you deserve somethin’ for it.
- I heard tell they’re talkin’ about maybe gettin’ $2500, but who knows if that’s true. Lawyers, they always take a big chunk, you know.
This fella, Bryan, he says *, that’s where you watch the games online, they’ve been doin’ this with Facebook. Facebook, that’s where all the young folks are postin’ pictures and whatnot. Apparently, MLB was lettin’ Facebook see who was watchin’ what games. Maybe they were tryin’ to sell you more stuff, I dunno. Seems like everyone’s always tryin’ to sell you somethin’ these days.
Can you join this lawsuit? Well, that’s the tricky part. They say you gotta join before the court makes up its mind. If you wait too long, you might be outta luck. It’s like missin’ the bus, you gotta be on time, or you’re walkin’. They probably had somethin’ in the fine print, you know, all them little words nobody reads. Always gotta read the fine print, even if it gives you a headache. But honestly, who reads that stuff anyway? It’s like they try to hide things in there on purpose.
I heard some folks are gettin’ ads about this lawsuit, sayin’ they can get money. If you see somethin’ like that, maybe you should look into it. But be careful, there’s always folks tryin’ to scam you, especially when money’s involved. Don’t give your information to just anybody. You gotta be smart about these things.
This whole thing reminds me of that time old man Jenkins got his chickens stolen. He didn’t see who did it, and nobody fessed up. But if a whole bunch of folks had their chickens stolen the same night, well, then you got a case, don’t ya? It’s the same kind of thing, I guess. A whole bunch of folks got somethin’ taken from them, even if it ain’t chickens, it’s their privacy.
What’s MLB sayin’ about all this? Well, I ain’t heard much from them. They probably got their fancy lawyers workin’ overtime, tryin’ to figure out how to get outta this mess. Maybe they’ll offer some refunds, I heard they did that before. But a refund ain’t gonna fix everything, is it? It’s like sayin’ sorry after you already broke somethin’.
And then there’s somethin’ about YouTube TV, too. I heard they were havin’ trouble with MLB, couldn’t agree on how much to pay to show the games. So YouTube TV stopped showin’ the games. Seems like everyone’s fightin’ over money these days. It’s a dog-eat-dog world, that’s for sure.
So, that’s the gist of it, as best as I can tell. It’s a big mess, with lots of lawyers and big words. But at the end of the day, it’s about folks bein’ treated fair and square. And it sounds like maybe MLB wasn’t doin’ that. We’ll just have to wait and see what the court decides, if it ever gets that far. These things can drag on forever, you know. Like a bad cold, they just linger and linger.
