Alright, let’s talk about this Colorado State football team, ya know, the Rams. Heard they got a bunch of young fellas playin’ this year, gotta see who’s who.

Now, this here “depth chart” thing, it’s just a way of sayin’ who’s gonna start and who’s waitin’ on the bench. Like, who’s the main man throwin’ the ball, and who’s gonna come in if he gets a boo-boo.
Offense, that’s the guys tryin’ to score.
- Quarterback: Heard they got a couple of ’em. Don’t rightly know their names, but one fella’s gotta be the starter, the one callin’ the plays and throwin’ the pigskin. The other one, he’s just waitin’ his turn, watchin’ and learnin’. Maybe he gets in if the starter ain’t doin’ so good, or if the starter gets hurt. Gotta have a backup, ya know, just in case.
- Runnin’ Backs: These are the fellas that carry the ball, tryin’ to run past them big ol’ fellas on the other team. Some are fast, some are strong, gotta have a mix of ’em. The starter, he’s the one they trust to get the tough yards, and the backups, they come in to give him a breather or maybe try somethin’ different.
- Wide Receivers: These are the skinny fellas that catch the ball. Gotta be fast and gotta have good hands. They run around, tryin’ to get open so the quarterback can throw it to ’em. The starters, they get the most balls thrown their way, and the backups, they gotta be ready when their number’s called.
- Tight Ends: Now, these fellas are kinda like a mix of the runnin’ backs and the wide receivers. They can block, they can catch, they gotta do a bit of everything. Good tight end can be real helpful to an offense.
- Offensive Line: These are the big fellas, the ones that protect the quarterback and open up holes for the runnin’ backs. They don’t get much glory, but they’re important. Gotta be strong and gotta work together. Starters here usually play most of the game, unless they get tired or hurt. Backups gotta be ready to step in and not miss a beat.
Then there’s the defense, them fellas tryin’ to stop the other team from scorin’.
- Defensive Line: Big fellas, just like on offense, but their job is to get to the other team’s quarterback and stop the runnin’ backs. They gotta be strong and quick.
- Linebackers: These fellas are kinda in between the defensive line and the defensive backs. They gotta be able to tackle, cover, and sometimes even rush the quarterback. A good linebacker can make a big difference on defense.
- Defensive Backs: These fellas cover the wide receivers and try to intercept the ball. Gotta be fast and gotta have good instincts. They’re the last line of defense, so they gotta be good. Starters here play a lot, ’cause teams throw the ball so much these days. Backups gotta know what they’re doin’ and be ready to go.
- Special Teams: Now, this is a whole different thing. This is the kickers, the punters, the fellas that return kicks. They don’t play offense or defense, but they’re still important. A good kicker can win you a game, and a good punter can keep the other team from scorin’. Don’t forget about the fellas that run back kicks, they can bust a big one and change the game.
So, that’s pretty much it. The depth chart is just a way of knowin’ who’s playin’ and who’s waitin’ their turn. It changes all the time, ya know, fellas get hurt, fellas play good, fellas play bad. It’s all part of the game. Gotta have good players at every position, starters and backups, if you wanna win.
Heard tell this Colorado State team is tryin’ to get better, gotta have young fellas step up and play good. Gotta see if they can do it, gotta watch ’em play. Football’s a tough game, gotta be tough to play it. Hope them boys are ready.

Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this here “depth chart”. Just a bunch of names and positions, but it tells you who’s who on the team. Go Rams!
