Alright, alright, let’s talk about this WWE Smackdown card thing. I don’t know all them fancy words, but I’ll tell ya what I know, just like I’m tellin’ my neighbor Bessie over the fence.
So, this Smackdown, it’s on TV, ya know? Every Friday night. They say it’s on somethin’ called the USA Network. Now, I ain’t got no cable, but my grandson, he watches it on that there… whatchamacallit… Peacock? Yeah, that’s it. He says you can also watch it on somethin’ called Fubo TV and YouTube TV. Too many names for this old lady, I tell ya. And DirecTV Stream, whatever that is. Sounds expensive.

They say it comes on at 8 o’clock at night, that’s Eastern time they call it. For us normal folks, it just means when it gets dark. But if you live way out west, like in California or somethin’, it’ll be earlier for you. And if you’re over in India, well, it’ll be mornin’ time when you see it. Saturday mornin’, 6:30 they say. On somethin’ called Sony Sports Network. Sony Ten this, Sony Ten that…too much for me to remember. They got a whole bunch of channels over there.
Now, this Smackdown, it ain’t just any old wrestlin’ show. It’s a big deal! They say it’s been goin’ on for more than 20 years! Can you believe that? More than 1,200 episodes! That’s a whole lotta wrestlin’. My grandson says it’s Season 26 now. Seems like just yesterday he was a little fella watchin’ those muscle men jump around.
- Where to watch: USA Network, Peacock, Fubo TV, YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream, Sony Sports Network (India)
- When to watch: Friday nights at 8 PM ET (7 PM CT), Saturday 6:30 AM IST (India)
- How long it’s been on: Over 20 years, Season 26
This particular Smackdown, they filmed it in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the Target Center, they say. Big place, I bet. Probably got lots of those fancy hot dogs and overpriced sodas. My grandson always complains about the prices, but he still buys ‘em. Kids these days, I tell ya.
Sometimes, these Smackdowns are important. Like, this one time, it was the last show before somethin’ called Survivor Series: WarGames. Sounds scary, don’t it? WarGames. My grandson said it’s a big event with lots of wrestlers fightin’ in cages. He gets all excited about it, jumpin’ around the living room. I just tell him to be careful not to break nothin’.
Other times, they have championship matches. Like, this one Smackdown had somethin’ about a Women’s United States Championship Semifinals. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Basically, the ladies were fightin’ to see who gets to be the champion. And then they hype up the Main Event for Saturday night. Always gotta have a Main Event, I guess. Makes it sound important.
My grandson, he likes to read spoilers. He goes on that internet thing on his phone and finds out what’s gonna happen before it even airs. He told me somethin’ about The Bloodline bein’ in action and a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match and somethin’ about Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens speakin’. I told him, “Don’t tell me! I wanna be surprised!” But he just laughs and tells me anyway. Kids, I tell ya, no respect for their elders.
And get this, they had another Smackdown before another big event called Saturday Night’s Main Event. Seems like there’s always somethin’ big happenin’ in this wrestlin’ world. They gotta fill those two hours somehow, I reckon. They say it’s the final stop before the big show, so I guess it’s important to watch. Got to see who’s gonna be fightin’ who and all that.

They even have it in different places. One time, they had it at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. I ain’t never been to Utah, but I heard it’s real pretty. Lots of mountains and such. But I bet those wrestlers don’t have time for sightseeing. They’re too busy slammin’ each other around.
So, if you wanna know everything about this Smackdown – the matches, the highlights, the results – they say you gotta go to somethin’ called Khel Now. Sounds like one of them fancy magazines my daughter used to read. But my grandson says it’s a website. Everything’s on the internet these days. Hard for an old lady like me to keep up.
Anyway, that’s about all I know about this WWE Smackdown card. It’s a wrestlin’ show, it’s on TV, it’s been on for a long time, and it’s a big deal to some folks. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about wrestlin’ has made me hungry.
