Okay, so I tried out this thing called “chancellors tennis” today. Never heard of it before, but it sounded kinda cool, so I thought, why not? Grabbed my racket and a buddy, and we headed to the courts.
First off, we had to figure out the rules. Turns out, it’s a bit different from regular tennis. We spent a good chunk of time just reading up on it and watching some videos online. Finally, we felt like we kinda got the gist of it.

Then, we started playing. The scoring was the weirdest part. Instead of the usual 15, 30, 40 thing, it’s like, you gotta get to a certain number of points, and you can lose points too? It was a mess at first. We kept messing up and had to stop and check the rules like every five minutes.
- Rallying: We tried to keep the ball going back and forth, you know, like normal tennis.
- Scoring: This was the real brain bender. We argued a bit about who was winning, or if we were even doing it right.
- Serving: This was mostly the same as regular tennis, so at least one thing was familiar.
- Figuring out the Special Rules: There were a couple of these, like special zones on the court that changed the score. We tried to use them, but honestly, it just made things even more confusing.
After a while, we kinda got into a rhythm. It wasn’t pretty, but we were having fun. We laughed a lot, especially when one of us would totally whiff the ball or accidentally hit it out of bounds.
In the end, I don’t know who won, and I don’t really care. We played for about two hours, and by the time we were done, we were both sweating buckets. It was a good workout, even if we didn’t really master the game.
Wrapping up
So, chancellors tennis? It’s… interesting. Definitely not your average tennis game. Would I play it again? Maybe. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon, but I think I’ll stick to regular tennis for now. But hey, at least I can say I tried it!
