Alright, so you wanna know about them gay women tennis players, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, there’s a bunch of ’em, some real good ones too. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I watch a bit of tennis on the TV when I ain’t busy with the chickens and the garden.

Now, there’s this one fella, or should I say, gal, Martina Navratilova. Folks say she’s one of the best ever, played singles like a demon. I remember seein’ her on TV back in the day, strong as an ox, hit that ball like she was mad at it. They say she’s one of the greatest, and I reckon they ain’t lyin’. She was somethin’ else, that one.
Then there’s all these new young ‘uns comin’ up. They say tennis is changin’, more and more folks bein’ open about who they are. They call ’em LGBTQIA players now. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But good on ’em, I say. It ain’t nobody’s business who you love, long as you ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
I heard tell of a fella named Lendale Johnson. He was the first fella, a tennis player, to come right out and say he was gay. That took some guts, I tell ya. Not everyone was happy ’bout it, but he stood his ground. It ain’t easy bein’ different, especially when everyone’s watchin’ ya.
- And then there’s this Russian gal, Kasatkina. She’s a tough one too, plays real good. What gets me is, she’s from Russia, and they ain’t always too friendly to folks who ain’t straight. But she don’t care, she tells the whole world she’s gay. That’s brave, I tell ya. She ain’t just hittin’ tennis balls, she’s speakin’ her mind. I like that. She uses her platform, they call it, to speak her mind.
- And the young folks, they love gossipin’ about Badosa and Tsitsipas. They’re a couple, a boy and a girl, both playin’ tennis. They’re always on them TikToks and whatnots. Young love, I guess. It reminds me of when me and the old man was courtin’. Simpler times, though.
And of course, there’s Serena Williams. Now, she’s a powerhouse. Strongest woman I ever did see play tennis. Her and her sister, Venus, they dominated for years. I don’t know if she’s gay or not, and it ain’t none of my business, but she’s a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure. She’s got a family now, a little girl, I think. Time flies, don’t it?
So yeah, there’s a whole bunch of ’em, gay, straight, whatever. They all play tennis, they all sweat and grunt and fight for every point. And that’s what matters, I reckon. It ain’t who you love, it’s how you play the game. And some of them gay women, they play it real darn good.

Tennis is changing, that’s for sure. And these openly gay players, they’re a part of that change. It makes you think, you know? The world is a big place, and there’s room for everyone. Even old biddies like me who just like to watch a good tennis match now and again.
Anyways, that’s all I know about them gay women tennis players. Like I said, I ain’t no expert. But I know what I see, and I see some good tennis bein’ played, no matter who’s holdin’ the racket.
