Okay, so I was messing around trying to come up with some funny MLB fantasy baseball team names. It’s that time of year again, you know? Draft season! And let’s be honest, half the fun is having a killer team name that’ll get some laughs (or at least a few eye rolls) from your league mates.
First thing I did was just brainstorm, right? I’m sitting here with a notepad, scribbling down anything that came to mind. Thinking about players, teams, baseball terms… all that jazz. Some of them were total garbage. Like seriously, who’d want to be “The Fungo Hitters”? That’s just… sad.
Then I figured, why not see what the internet has to offer? I did a quick search for “mlb fantasy baseball team names” – you know, the usual. Got a bunch of lists, articles, the works. Some of them were pretty decent, had some solid puns. But a lot of it was stuff I’d seen before, or just wasn’t really my style. I wanted something a little more… original. Something that screams ME.
So, I started combining ideas. Taking bits and pieces from different lists and twisting them around. I saw one that was like “Justin Turner’s Red Stache,” and I thought, “Okay, that’s in the right direction… but what about [Insert Player Name Here]’s [Insert Body Part Here]?” You get the idea. It’s all about the personalized touch, baby!
I spent a good hour or two just playing around with different combinations. I tried stuff like “DeGromination,” (kinda basic, I know), “Scherzer Things,” (Stranger Things reference, still not great), and “Trout Fishing in America” (too obscure, nobody would get it). It was a process, lemme tell ya.
Finally, after all that wrangling, I think I’ve landed on a few that I’m actually pretty happy with. My top contenders are: “Guerrero’s Glutes,” “Ohtani’s Two-Way Street,” and “Judge Judy and the Executioners.” I’m leaning towards the Judge one just ’cause it’s so out there and unexpected. But I’m still open to suggestions.
The thing I realized is, it’s not just about being funny, it’s about capturing the spirit of your team. You want a name that reflects your strategy, your personality, your love for the game (or your blatant disregard for it!).
Ultimately, picking a fantasy baseball team name is all about having fun. Don’t overthink it! Just go with whatever makes you laugh, or whatever you think will annoy your friends the most. That’s what I’m going for anyway.
