Okay, here’s my blog post about my “Fantasy Football Draft Order Olympics” experience:
Alright, so every year, my buddies and I do this league, right? And every year, we gotta figure out the draft order. We used to do it the boring way – pulling names from a hat, random number generator, blah blah blah. BORING. This year, I was like, “Nah, we’re spicing things up.”

The Birth of the Olympics
So, I’m brainstorming, thinking, “How can we make this…fun?” And it hit me: OLYMPICS! Not, like, real Olympics, obviously. We’re not that athletic. But, like, goofy, competitive games. We’d call it the “Draft Order Olympics.” Genius, right?
First, I gathered everyone up, laid out my grand plan. They were skeptical, but mostly on board. I mean, who doesn’t like a little friendly competition? We needed to make a list. We had to keep things simple, easy to do at someone’s house, no crazy equipment needed.
The Events
- Beer Pong Tournament: Classic. Gotta have it. Single elimination.
- Flip Cup Challenge: Team-based. We split into two teams.
- Mario Kart Race: Everyone loves Mario Kart. We set up a tournament bracket.
- Cornhole Toss: Just a straight-up cornhole tournament.
- “Chubby Bunny” Contest: See who can fit the most marshmallows in their mouth and still say “Chubby Bunny.” Hilarious.
The Scoring
I decided on a simple points system. First place in each event got 12 points (since we have 12 people in the league), second got 11, and so on. Kept it easy to track. We used a giant whiteboard to keep score, which, let me tell you, got PRETTY competitive.
The Games Begin!
We kicked things off with Beer Pong. Some people take that stuff way too seriously. There were trick shots, intense stares, the whole nine yards. I got knocked out pretty early (my skills are…questionable), but it was fun to watch.
Flip Cup was next. Total chaos. Cups flying everywhere, beer spilling. My team lost, sadly. We were just too slow.
Mario Kart was intense. There were some serious rivalries there. I’m pretty sure one guy practiced beforehand. He destroyed us all. I came in, like, 8th. Respectable, I guess.
Cornhole, everyone thinks they are good, but they aren’t.

The Chubby Bunny contest was the highlight, though. Watching grown men stuff their faces with marshmallows? Comedy gold. One guy almost choked, but he was fine. We were all laughing so hard. This contest was truly what it was about.
The Results
After all the games, I tallied up the scores. The guy who dominated Mario Kart ended up winning the whole thing. He got the first pick in the draft. I ended up somewhere in the middle, which is fine by me.
Honestly, the best part wasn’t even the draft order. It was just hanging out with my friends, doing something ridiculous, and having a ton of laughs. We’re definitely making this an annual tradition. Next year, we’re thinking of adding a hot dog eating contest. Wish us luck!
