Okay, so, yesterday I was all hyped to jump into some MLB The Show 22. You know, unwind, hit some dingers, the whole deal. But when I fired up the game, bam! Nothing but error messages. I was like, “Seriously?”
First thing I did, I restarted the game. Standard procedure, right? Didn’t work. Still getting the same error, some generic “unable to connect to server” garbage. I’m starting to get that familiar gamer frustration brewing.

Next up, I figured maybe it was my internet. Checked my connection – all good. Ran a speed test, numbers were solid. So, it wasn’t me. It had to be them.
Headed over to Twitter. That’s where you find out if everyone else is suffering too, you know? Sure enough, searched “MLB The Show 22 servers down” and the floodgates opened. People were PISSED. Confirmed: it wasn’t just me.
I wanted to try a few other things just to be sure. So, I tried switching from wifi to an Ethernet cable thinking maybe it was a wifi issue but still no luck. I even tried restarting my PS5, you know, the whole “turn it off and on again” thing that fixes everything… except in this case.
Then I went to the official MLB The Show website. Usually they’ll have some kind of announcement if the servers are having a meltdown. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Come on, guys, at least acknowledge the problem!
So, basically, I was stuck. Couldn’t play. Just had to sit there and wait it out. I checked back on Twitter every so often to see if there were any updates. Eventually, I saw some people saying the servers were back up, so I gave it another shot. And, finally, it worked!
Takeaway? When MLB The Show 22 servers go down, you just gotta be patient. Check Twitter, see if others are having the same problem, and then just… wait. It sucks, but what else can you do?
- Restarted the game
- Checked my internet connection
- Searched Twitter for server status
- Restarted my console
- Visited the official website (no luck)
- Waited it out and kept checking
Hopefully they get their act together and fix whatever was causing the problems. But hey, at least I got some practice refreshing Twitter!
