Okay, so today I decided to get back on the court and work on my tennis game, focusing on stuff I’d seen from Anthony Rossi. I’ve been watching a bunch of his videos, and I really wanted to try out some of his techniques.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find a court. Luckily, the local park has a few that are usually empty in the mornings. I grabbed my racket, a can of balls, and headed out. The weather was perfect – sunny, but not too hot, which is a big deal for me because I sweat like crazy.

The Warm-Up
I started with a basic warm-up, just like Rossi emphasizes. I did some light jogging around the court, some dynamic stretches – you know, arm circles, leg swings, the whole deal. I really focused on loosening up my shoulders and hips, because those are key for a good swing. This is something I normally do, but I was extra focused on it.
- Jogging around the court 2 Laps
- Dynamic stretching: arm circles, leg swings, torso twists.
- Shadow swings, slow and controlled.
Drills, Drills, Drills
Warmed up, I started doing drills. First try to practice my forehand, trying to get that nice, clean contact and follow-through that Rossi talks about.
Then, I spent some time on my backhand.
Honestly, my backhand has always been my weakness, so I was really trying to implement Rossi’s tips about keeping my wrist firm and using my body weight.
It felt awkward at first, like I was relearning the stroke, but after a few hits, it started to click.
I also worked on my serve, I was trying to get that consistent toss and powerful drive. I probably did about 50 serves, just focusing on form and placement, not so much power. I even pretended my trainner was here with me.
Cooling Down
After about two hours, I was pretty beat. I finished up with some static stretches, holding each one for a good 30 seconds. I made sure to stretch out my legs, back, and shoulders really well. I grabbed my water bottle and chugged the rest of it down – staying hydrated is super important.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m not expecting to become a pro overnight, but I definitely felt like I made some progress today.
It’s all about consistent practice and focusing on the right things. I think I am going to keep working on it, record some more videos, and check my form. Maybe next time, I’ll focus more on footwork, which is another big thing Rossi emphasizes. It was a good day on the court!
