So, I’ve always wanted to try golfing, and Kuala Lumpur seemed like a cool place to do it. I mean, they’ve got some really nice courses there. I did a bit of digging online, found a few that looked promising, and booked a flight. Easy peasy.
When I got there, I went straight to this course called “The Mines Resort & Golf Club”. Heard good things about it. Man, it was huge! And pretty fancy too. Got myself a caddy – a local guy named Rahman, super friendly, knew the course like the back of his hand. He gave me some tips, helped me pick the right clubs, and off we went.

First few holes, I was all over the place. Slicing, hooking, you name it. Rahman was patient though, showed me how to adjust my grip, my stance, everything. He made it simple, you know? Not like those complicated tutorials you see online.
My First Try
- Swinging the club felt weird at first.
- Hitting the ball was a challenge.
- Keeping the ball going straight? Forget about it!
Then, somewhere around the 5th hole, it started to click. I was actually hitting the ball pretty straight. Even got a par on one hole! Rahman was like, “See? You got it!” Felt like a champ, not gonna lie.
Getting Better
- Started to understand the swing.
- Figured out how to aim better.
- Managed to get some decent scores.
We played a full 18 holes. Took us a while, but it was so much fun. The course was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and I was actually playing golf! In Kuala Lumpur! Who would’ve thought?
After the game, Rahman and I grabbed a drink at the clubhouse. We chatted about golf, about Kuala Lumpur, about life. It was a good day. A really good day.
Wrapping Up
- Played a full round of golf.
- Enjoyed the beautiful course and weather.
- Made a new friend in Rahman.
So yeah, that’s my golfing story in Kuala Lumpur. It was a great experience, totally worth it. I’d definitely go back again. And hey, if you’re ever in KL and want to try golfing, give it a shot. You might surprise yourself.
I will go there again someday.
