Alright, let me tell you about figuring out where to catch the Indiana football game on the radio the other day. It wasn’t exactly rocket science, but you know how sometimes finding simple info takes a few tries.
So, I was gonna be out, driving around, during the game time. Couldn’t watch it, obviously. The only option was the radio. Problem was, I didn’t know offhand which station carried the Hoosiers where I was gonna be. You’d think it’d be easy, but local stations change things up sometimes.

My First Steps
First thing I did, grabbed my phone. Just typed in something basic like “indiana football radio station”. Got a whole mess of results back, like news reports about the team, some forum chats, stuff like that. Not really a straightforward list, you know? Wasted a few minutes scrolling through that stuff.
Then I thought, okay, gotta go to the source. The official athletics department website, that’s usually the best bet for this kind of thing. So I went looking for the IU Athletics page.
Digging on the Official Site
Once I got to their main site, I had to poke around a bit. Websites like that can have a ton of menus and sections. Looked under ‘Fan Zone’, ‘Gameday’, stuff like that. Took me a couple of clicks, maybe went down a wrong path once or twice. Finally, I stumbled onto a section, I think it was labeled something like ‘Broadcast Information’ or maybe ‘IU Radio Network’. Something along those lines.
And there it was. Success. They had a page specifically listing all the radio stations that carry the games.
Found the List
It was pretty clearly laid out:
- City or Town
- The actual station call letters (like WXXX)
- The frequency (like 97.1 FM or 1070 AM)
Just a simple list, exactly what I needed. Scrolled down until I found the area I was going to be in. Noted the station and the frequency.
Tuning In
Later, when I was in the car and it was getting close to kickoff, I just dialed that station into the radio. Took a second to tune in clear, and boom, there was the broadcast. Heard the announcers starting the pre-game talk. Worked out perfectly.

So yeah, that was it. Didn’t take forever, but it wasn’t instant either. Had to do a little digging on the official site. Good reminder that sometimes the direct source is the way to go, even if it takes an extra click or two compared to a quick web search. At least now I know where to look next time I’m stuck listening instead of watching.
