Alright, let’s talk about wanting out in MLB The Show 24, specifically in Road to the Show. I found myself stuck on a team going nowhere fast, and honestly, my player deserved better, you know? So, I decided I had to figure out how to get a trade.
First thing I did was just poke around the main menus in RTTS. Looked through player options, team stuff, everywhere. Couldn’t find a big shiny “DEMAND TRADE” button, which was kinda frustrating. Spent a good few minutes just clicking through screens hoping something would jump out.

Then I remembered, oh yeah, you have an agent in this mode. That’s gotta be the way. So, I went back to the main RTTS hub, the clubhouse screen.
Finding Your Agent
You gotta navigate through your player’s interaction options. It wasn’t super obvious at first, but I eventually found the option to interact with my agent. I think it was under one of the main career or player sections in the clubhouse menu. You’ll see his picture or name there.
Making the Request
Once I clicked on the agent interaction, it brought up a conversation screen. There were a few things you could discuss, like your role or performance. But the one I was looking for was right there. It was phrased something like “Request a Trade” or “Express desire to be traded”. Couldn’t miss it once I was in that specific chat.
I selected that option, obviously. My player character said his piece, basically telling the agent he wasn’t happy and wanted a change of scenery.
The Waiting Game
Now, don’t expect fireworks immediately. My agent basically said, “Okay, I hear you. I’ll talk to the front office and see what other teams might be interested, but these things take time.” No guarantees, standard stuff.
And he wasn’t kidding about the time part. It wasn’t instant. I had to just keep playing the game. Simming probably works too, but I played through the games. Had to advance the calendar, day by day, week by week.
- Played through scheduled games.
- Did my usual training sessions.
- Basically just continued the season as normal.
It felt like maybe three or four weeks in game time passed? Maybe a bit longer. I was starting to wonder if it was actually going to happen.

Getting the Call
Then, finally, after a game, I got the notification. It was my agent. He called up, said he’d worked something out and the front office had agreed to explore trades. Shortly after that, maybe another week or so, the actual trade offer came through.
In my case, they presented me with one specific team that wanted me. I didn’t get like a list to choose from, just the one offer on the table. Maybe it depends on your player’s value or the teams interested, I dunno.
The Result
I looked at the team offering, decided it was better than where I was, and accepted the trade. Boom. Pack your bags, new city, new team. The process worked.
So yeah, you absolutely can demand a trade. You just gotta go through your agent, make the request clear, and then be patient while they work the phones. It doesn’t happen overnight, but stick with it and you should eventually get that change of scenery if you really want it.
