Okay, so today I was trying to figure out this crossword clue, “NBA and WNBA,” and let me tell you, it had me scratching my head for a bit. At first, I was thinking, “What could possibly link these two leagues besides, well, basketball?”
I started by listing out everything I know about both leagues. Obviously, they are both professional basketball leagues. One is for men(NBA), and the other is for women (WNBA).
My Thought Process
- First try: Thinking about shared players. Nope, that didn’t seem right, no direct player overlap.
- Second try: I thought maybe owners? But I am not very familiar with it.
- Third try: Maybe the locations? Nope, still not it.
So, I decided to type the clue into Google. I figured some crossword solver site must have tackled this one before.
Boom! Right there on several crossword solver websites, the answer turned out to be “LEAGUES.”
It makes total sense now! Both are basketball, Leagues! I felt a little silly for not getting it immediately, but hey, that’s what makes crosswords fun, right? It’s the challenge.
I finished up my crossword, feeling pretty satisfied. Always good to learn something new, even if it’s just a simple crossword answer.
