Alright, so I wanted to figure out this whole position-switching thing in MLB The Show 24. I’d heard some buzz about it, and frankly, my outfield was a mess. So, I dove in.
First, I booted up the game, obviously. I went straight into my Diamond Dynasty squad – that’s where I’m trying to build my dream team. I picked a player, a guy who I thought might be better off somewhere else.
Trying to Find the “Switch”
I started poking around in the menus. I looked at the player card, scrolled through all the options… nothing. I thought, “Okay, maybe it’s in the lineup screen?” Nope. Still nothing that clearly said “change position.”
I got to admit, I felt a little silly. I thought, “It can not be that hard, can it?” Started looking for some kind of ‘edit player’ option or something.
Secondary Positions are Key!
Then, a lightbulb went off. I remembered something about “secondary positions.” So I went back to the player card, and really paid attention this time.
- I found it! My player had a primary position (the big one listed) and then, tucked away, a couple of secondary positions.
- Bingo! That’s how the game handles it. You can’t just force a guy to play anywhere. He has to have it listed as a secondary position.
Putting It All Together
So, I went back to my lineup. I selected my player and I could move him the positions according to the secondary positions on his card.
It wasn’t some hidden button or magic trick. You just gotta make sure the player is capable of playing the other position, according to their card. Once you realize that, it’s pretty straightforward.
So my advice to you, make sure to really look at those player cards. That secondary position listing is where the magic happens.
