Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show 24, and one of the things I was most hyped about was messing around with the legend players. I mean, who doesn’t want to see Babe Ruth go yard in a modern stadium, right?
Getting Started
First things first, I had to figure out where to find these guys. They’re not just chilling in every game mode, you know. So I hopped into Diamond Dynasty – that’s where the real card-collecting action is. I poked around a bit, and yep, there they were. Different packs, different programs… gotta earn ’em!
Unlocking My First Legends

I started grinding out some of the starter programs. These are great because they give you some decent cards to, well, start with. And guess what? Some of those early rewards include legend players! I snagged a pretty sweet Bob Feller card early on. Not the best pitcher in the game, but hey, it’s Bob Feller!

Then I noticed the “Team Affinity” programs. These are a bit more of a commitment, but they’re loaded with legends specific to each team. Pick your favorite squad, start completing missions, and you’ll be raking in those classic players. I’m a Red Sox fan, so naturally, I went straight for that one. Working my way towards a Ted Williams card, baby!
Putting Them in the Lineup
Once I had a few legends, it was time to put them in my lineup. This is pretty straightforward. Just go to your squad management screen, and you can slot them in just like any other player. One thing I noticed, though: some legends have multiple positions they can play. Experiment with that! It can really open up your lineup possibilities. I found a sweet spot with one utility legend, he’s all over my infield.
Playing the Game
Okay, this is where the fun really starts. Seeing these legends in action is awesome. The game does a great job with their stances, swings, and even pitching motions. It’s like a little bit of baseball history brought back to life. I swear, hitting a home run with Hank Aaron felt different than hitting one with a current player. It just… did.
And that is the story of legend players, I was able to use them after my efforts and it was great!
